Understanding Different kinds of U.S. casinos in different cities

An important note is that some cities in the united states have stricter gambling laws then others. In some places gambling is only legal at Native American casinos that are located on reservation land. If this is the case, and a casino is located on Native American land we refer to these casinos are offering Class II, or Class III gambling.

The difference between the Class II and Class III is, Class II gaming machines are not the typical slots or games that you would find in a Las Vegas major casino. Class II gaming machines are actually based on games of bingo. When you play these games, you are actually playing a casino wide game of bingo against other players.

If a casino offers Class III gaming, then you are typically playing a slot machine similar to the slot machines and gaming machines you would find in major gaming cities casinos such as Las Vegas, Atlantic City, or Reno.

Check each of our major gaming city pages to find specific and individual gaming laws for each location. Some cities in the United States only allow for casino gambling to be located on be riverboats, other cities are only allowed to be located in traditional land-based casinos.
