Needless to say that I've lost at Empire, however, I've also won and won big on penny machines as well as dollar machines. My problem is that I don't know when to leave. That
is solely "my problem"!

My complaint is with the security detail. Absolutely no one manages the outside areas where people smoke and smoke; completely ignoring the designated smoking sign clearly displayed.
Recently, I saw a person with a mask on that looked like an oxygen mask. When I asked several people standing in front of the sign to move, I was screamed and cursed at. I went back inside and reported it to the security officer and asked that they clear the area of offending smokers. I was told that they were not allowed to go outside and say anything to the smokers. Further, I was told by this (really illustrious) guard when they attempted to to speak to the smokers, they were called upstairs, screamed at with threats of losing their jobs.

I am a former administrator of a major city agency and I am reporting that the management situation at Empire needs to be reviewed and overhauled. Yes, things have changed since I began going there. Yes, sometimes they send really good comps, but not always, especially when I feel I earned larger amounts than received. I think Empire has lost their will to please because of the caliber of some patrons attending the casino. It appears that they actually fear folks that are trying to destroy the casino. Late nights, you are bombarded with beggars, drunks and and assortment of I don't really know kind of people.

I will probably continue going but I sincerely hope that they improve the conduct of the security guards..and the amount of my comps.

I'll drive the 45 minutes and pay the toll on the bridge rather than drive the 20 minutes to go to Resorts World. I haven't been there in 3 years as Empire City's Casino seems to have better food and the lines are shorter at the cashier and food court. I have some very good days to go with bad days on the machines, although I came out ahead for the year in 2014.. Rest rooms are very clean and they have plenty of parking. Never had any problem whether I go daytime or night time, but I wouldn't go to Resorts world at night.

I started playing at empire city casino since may, 2015. I have had a lot of fun. I know people don't win a lot but that's the nature of probability. I also know this statement might sound ridiculous to many who have gambled more, but in a win/lost situation, I have won as much as I put it, so basically I have not lost very much.

Of course, human kind are greedy so, like everyone else, I expect better. My best advice is, DON'T GO EVERYDAY. Just go in a particular night when there is an event, that's when I have noticed, I have won the most. Goodluck!

The comps are only good for locals and even then they are not good. Who want to travel from Brooklyn to Empire for a $20 comp.

Ok, as a regular I see some off the comments here are spot on and just wanted to confirm. As per Don McNeil, yes, you NEVER want to play the roulette tables without a crowd of people actually playing. I learned this the hard way. It seems the numbers that pop up are the ones you don't pick. The NYS lottery website posts weekly reports of how all casinos run by them take in and pay out. It's terrible that Empire makes millions of dollars a week but after all these years there is no million dollar progressive. Most I have ever seen was about $6th on a penny machine and I doubt anyone actually won before it reset. Now up til today the highest jackpot on there website is for $400K and that is for a wheel of fortune game which is a $5 machine tines 2 credits for a total of $10 per spin. Just awful of you ask me.

Yes, the customer service is terrible. If you money is stuck in a machine prepare to wait wait wait. Only advice I can offer is to hit the service button on a few machines near you if no one is playing in hopes it will get their attention.

Valet parking use to be a nightmare. You would literally wait 20 to 30 minutes in your car on a weekend night just to get you car checked in. Many nights I would just get out of line and park my car myself and just take the shuttle bus. Now they have gotten better since the new renovation. They finally learned that people can drive up and leave their car until an attendant was available to move it while one person watches the cars. Checking out for valet use to be terrible as well but they now have 3 or 4 kiosks if you pay by credit card or comp points and now they have a big screen which shows the status of your car so kudos for that.

All in all, if you want to win big money, don't go to Empire City. Go to AC or CT in fact Mohegan sun has a special if you show them your empire city card they will comp you $100 for first time members only. It's on a big billboard across the street from Empire City. Lol. Personally I only go for fun and it's 5 minutes from my home in Yonkers. HAVE FUN AND REMEMBER ITS JUST A GAME!
