The Empire City Casino located in Yonkers is one place of play. I go there to relax and to enjoy. Sometimes I win money and usually I lose money but I go because I want to go. When I get money I am happy and when I lose money I learn that I can't always win. I've decided to go anyway. I do not bring too much money like, I did before, but I continue going to try my lick. Yonkers is not the toilet of Westchester. Yonkers is a nice town full of hard-working people.

When it first opened, i would take home 4 to 5 hundred. Now you might be able to win 30 cents for every dollar u play. The quick hit machines are 3.00 max, where other casinos are 1.50. Why? Their machine are server run. They can change payout of the machines in a central office. They are not suppose to change while a person is playing but i read somewhere if you wait four min they can. They also would loosen the machines for senior and tighten for younger crowd. Where is the luck or the fairness? They wont see me again and i live 10 min. I get on the bus to mohegan sun where i always walk home with money.

Empire City is not a place for serious gamblers but if you want to spend a few hours in a nice smoke free atmosphere then Empire City at Yonkers Raceway is an OK place. The buffet is awful but the food court is adequate to good and and there is a nice assortment of machines. I always use Valet parking because it is a pain in the you know what to use the general free parking and then have to wait to be transported to the casino. Entertainment is great and mostly free for card members. For Seniors there are free oldies groups on Wednesdays, as well as a gift and five dollars for playing. On EVERY Thursday there is a free tribute show. (Elton John, Cher, Neil Diamond, etc) See entertainment monthly schedule. Email promotions, ALL year round live harness racing, free parking, food court, etc. Wish other casinos gave so much away.

My husband & I were at the casino this past Sunday 8/8/10. We went to eat at the buffet & were very dissappointed with the food. This is not the first time, but we decided to give it one more try.

The flank steak was tough, the rice dish had uncooked rice mixed in & the tortellini was very salty. To top it off the coffee was not hot. I treated a friend of mine to the lunch buffet in June & the General Tso chicken was so tough you could not chew it. I will not eat there again, it's like throwing money away.
