I just stayed at this resort casino the first week of May with my friend. We go on a few big gambling trips a year, usually to places like Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, Take Tahoe.
First the cons: This was our first time gambling in OK. What a shock, let me tell you. First jaw dropper was the 'state' takes a $0.50 'ante' for every bet placed. That's right, for a $10 table minimum bet, you are paying an extra 50 cents a hand. Ok, that is irritating, highly shady, but whatever. Then we are sitting there playing the tables, and drinks are NOT complimentary. Not only do they charge you for drinks while you are losing your money to them, the drinks are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced and the waitresses are slower than molasses. What a scam! One white Russian was $7.50 and it was mostly ice cubes. highway robbery. The tables, we did awful. I don't expect to win a pile of chips in ten minutes, what I do expect is to go back and forth and keep playing for a couple of hours. I lost $300 in an hour at the minimum bet tables. (Blackjack, let it ride, four card poker, and Texas hold em). The slots were pretty bad as well. Let me tell you a FACT, the slot machine reels turn and stop more quickly than anywhere else I have ever played. This is so greedy, so not only are you losing because they never pay out or give bonuses, but you are losing at a faster rate because the reels stop quicker so you have to spin/play more quickly! I am NOT imagining this! LOCALS beware, you are being TAKEN for suckers by this casino!! The Pros: The rooms were on par or above anything in Vegas. They were just awesome. Very stylish, clean, the bathrooms were luxurious. The restaurants were good, we ate at the 1832 steakhouse. The prices were ok for a casino steakhouse, not super. The air filters on the casino floors were outstanding. they did a great job of keeping the place from being smoky. Unless you were sitting right next to a person smoking we couldn't smell smoke on the casino floor. Conclusion: I would definitely go here to do a weekend getaway at the resort. I wouldn't gamble here though until they make some serious changes in their protocols and loosen up the slots znd offer some free drinks.
Sad.. Sad.. Sad I agree with most of the negative reviews here. I have been playing here in Durant for almost 4 years. Since the beginning of 2009 the Casino stopped paying. Recently.. it is too bad..Call me a fool - Idiot -- or anything..But two weeks ago when I went I lost $700 - in one machine. I love the wild stallion penny machine and always bet max $2.50 at a time. Believe me.. for $700 it did not give one f****** bonus. May be its my bad I should have walked out of the machine after $200. But looking to get my money back.. I lost all my bankroll which was $700. There are periods I won here before 2009. But this was worst. I was angry. But who else I can blame except me. And I will never go back again.PLEASE DONT GO AND LOSE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY
LOVED IT! TURNED $800 OF OUR MONEY INTO $13,000 WI

This was the first time my husband and I went to Durant. We had been to Grant a few times and only broke even all together so we thought we'd try this. I played a $1 slot and hit $1500 on $80. My husband likes Roulette so after I hit I joined him. We hit $400 and played down to $175. I told him to cash out and That's when I told him to try the high roller room which i had already walked through and observed. And we ARE NOT HIGH ROLLERS. He went in playing a $5 slot betting the minimum. Hit 2 JACKPOTS $1500 & $2400, then cashed a $2400 voucher from the same machine. By this time we had multiplied the money we took by 4x. Then he hit another Jackpot on a $25 slot and only played $50. It amounted to $2400. Moved to the very next one and hit another JP of$1250. We played a little more in the newer high limits and decided we'd try the older room. We walked out of that room with 5000 after playing to see if we could get more. Went down the ramp to the old high rollers room. Lost 800. Then I told my husband to try a $25 slot. I handed him 200 he put in 100, hit 2000 JP. The attendant didn't even need his ID by now. She leaves and exactly 6 mins later he hit another 2000 JP on the same machine. She came back and said she didn't even make it to the cashier room to log the first one. We ended up playing all 13000 back but we always budget to come home with Nothing. It was fun and I wish we'd had stopped but that's life. If we'd had hit the 40,000 though we would have said glad we kept going. But That's how it goes. :) WILL BE BACK!!!
Went to Choctow in Durant over the weekend ( Saturday afternoon ). The place was not busy at all. Row after row of empty slot machines. I found out why there are so few customers!! NO decent payouts or bonus spins. I was hoping to spend the better part of the afternoon hours there. Boy was I mistaken. I lost my entire bankroll ( $200.00 ) in less than one hour playing the 25 cent machines. Everyone I talked to said the same thing.
My wife and I have been going to Choctow for three years. It has been getting progressively worse. Pay-outs are HORRIBLE.
You have $100.00 and play the 25 cent machines and lose it all in less than half an hour. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
