At the beginning of January I was given 4 different weeks where I was given $100 to use at The Meadows Casino. My girlfriend got the same offer as me. The first week of January we went and we had $100 Free play each to use at the Casino. We went and we had it and had a good time.

However, we went back 2 weeks later where we were to have the $100 again based on the paper they sent out and to our unfortunate surprise I only had $10 and my girlfriend $5. We drove over an hour just because we had this Free Play and we found out it wasn't on our account. We then took the papers we had showing where they were giving us the $100 to the Players Club inside the Casino. The workers were not helpful at all and said they sent us a letter which I had not seen. I asked for the manager and she said they made a mistake and gave people more free play then they wanted to and they were not honoring it for the last 2 weeks of the month. They would not compensate us with any additional free play and said you can do the swipe to get more free play but that is the same thing everybody else could do. Myself and my girlfriend came to get $100 in Free Play as promised when sent the original paper saying that's what we had. $100 in free play is what they said they were given and that is what we expected.

In my opinion The Meadows falsely advertised free play and then took it away. They honored the free play for 2 weeks. But on the third week did not keep their promise to their members in taken away 90-95% of the Free Play promised to them. It is like Best Buy saying a TV is on sale for $100 in an advertisement and then when you get there the TV is now a $1000.00. The Meadows players club treated us poorly and kept passing this problem on to somebody else who was similarly uncaring and unsympathetic.

If I lived 15 minutes away I probably wouldn't make as big of a deal of this. However, I live over an hour away and felt robbed that I drove that far for $10 Free play when it was suppose to be $100. I don't get how any business could promise one thing then take it away. If it was their mistake then they have to deal with honoring their mistake by giving out the free play. It is very hard for me to feel sorry for their mistake when they rake in millions upon millions every year. Maybe it was a million dollar mistake on their part but they are a big business and need to honor what they say. Myself and my girlfriend felt cheated and scammed by The a Meadows Casino.

My advice is there are several casinos in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio and I will be taking my business to The Rivers Casino in Pennsylvania. And for shorter travel The Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, WV.

I will no longer give a company who betrays and treats their members poorly my business.

I spent the most horrible, aggravating day today at the Meadows Casino, March 11, 2014. The computers were down - I couldn't retrieve my points and free play: tickets wouldn't work in machines and thinking it was just a bad ticket, I put more money in the machine, planning to cash in my ticket at the cashier later and then this second ticket would not work either; waited half an hour to be hand paid because the computer system went down completely. The lines at the cashiers were soo long and I had to wait again. The entire experience was terrible. The PA system kept telling us that the casino techs were diligently working on the problem - ha! The Meadows system must have been put together by the same people that were hired to do the Obamacare website - totally useless and aggravating. This computer problem has happened at least two times in the past. How frustrating.

So any casino that has a ribbon cutting for a car garage(not joking, it was on the news, hahaha) and advertises it on their webpage like it is a "big deal" should make you wary. Seriously, who celebrates the opening of a car garage? Here is another thing to make you wary. On Friday, August 24th, 2012 around 7PM, all the slots shut off. It was quick, like a 2 second flicker and all the machines rebooted. 20 minutes later, after the machines rebooted, many couldn't cash out their machine. And then, even if you were lucky enough to have a ticket to cash out, you couldn't. All the cash machines said, "see cashier", so you go to the cashier who says, "we can't give you money". We were told it may take 2-3 hours for those with money in the slots or has ticket to get the actual money (No Meadows employee knew much of anything to tell you. That said, in general, if you work there, you are probably not the sharpest tool in the shed. And you would think at least the female waitresses/bartenders would be good looking, but, in general, they are not, so don't go there expecting any eye candy on the workforce). Anyway, they proceeded to clear out the whole casino (PA Gaming Commission mandated). Queue the 2 hour wait to exit the casino (including the brand new parking garage, hahaha). The slots rebooting all at once has happened at least 1 time before (well documented in the news), and I was told it has happened 3-4 other times in addition. You would think, after the previous issues, a couple diesel generators may be a good idea to help the unstable power situation the casino obviously has. Instead of diesel generators the Meadows choose to build a parking garage I guess. They probably won't need the spaces the way this casino is going.

On another note, all the bar slots are sticky and screens are misaligned (you have to work to get it to actually pick what you wanted to pick). I approached a slot attendant about this after noticing the same machines on numerous visits having the same problems. He said, "well, people spill drinks on them all the time". Ok, but some how, other casinos, including others in PA, figured out how to clean the machines so they are working correctly, evidently Meadows hasn't yet. Then again, they can't keep the power running on the slots, so I guess asking for non-sticky working machines is a reach.

Bottom-line....if you are on I-79 and looking to gamble, best to just go to Wheeling Island or Rivers Casino. The Meadows is fast becoming just a hick playground of those in Washington County. And within 3 years, may not even exist. They already have competition from Rivers and the West Virginia casinos. It may be all over when Ohio starts up their casinos.

A cook is ripping off customers. He placed five onion rings total in the food order. The price was too high for a combo of a fountain drink with 5 onion rings! Do not buy the combo when he is the cook. He has short changed customers, witnessed on several orders. He was laughing about it with other Meadows food court kitchen employees. He was heard laughing with other employees about the few piece orders. He said while laughing about customers, "he gives the difference to other customers!" This means he decides what a customer looks like how he will do his job. Simply because, he did not know me or seem to know other customers. If he doesn't know me, he probably doesn't know the other ripped off customers. He is a heavy set large cook with a thin beard. When you order a large sub, you save 1.00 with a combo, spending 2.75 more to receive the combo. You save because you paid more on the main order. Giving five onion rings he called a half order was not on the sign nor explained while ordering. No other restaurant does this. Reason is it's a incentive normally for a full food order to save and pay more on extra food. *Note, the fountain drink is useless to pay for because the main casino floor offers customers those for free. Problem is, any smart casino offers more food for the money to bring customers into the establishment. It's no Las Vegas is right! Those are the real casinos! A employee at the Meadows was heard saying he was in real casinos. The Meadows in Pennsylvania (owned by Cannery Casinos) isn't considered a real casino by some. This is because of the way it is poorly, rudely run and operated.

As a casino overall review, Customers at the Platinum Players Club card ranking level are reporting flat promotions. One platinum member showed me her Platinum Players Club card while expressing her dissatisfaction in The  Meadows Racetrack And Casino in Washington County Pennsylvania. She received only $5.00 of free play. Most of your bus casino tours offer 10.00 for bussed in players! New players receive a 10.00 free play start! Platinum holders receive the same amount as new players!

Upsetting or insulting customers by actions, words, faces or lessened promotions is proving to be problematic for The Meadows.

Additionally, calling a slot machine service attendant lost some money. The attendant at a machine fixed it, then forced a customer to use the money returned into the machine in front of them. The customer paid to see if he fixed it, if he did his job correctly! The customer made a winning after the attendant left the machine. The Meadows customer then left upset with the winnings! Nice way to lose money Meadows.

Managers lie to customers. When a manager makes a false promise to a customer and then takes it back, they aren't truthful by word. The saying goest about such a manager, "you're not a man of your word." If you promise to make a problem right, then change your mind after you promise, it ruins the integrity of you and your casino. If your casino cannot be trusted, no one is safe. The PA State Gaming Control board has no reason to trust The Meadows with managers that lie. The managers are supposed to be trustworthy.

The integrity of The Meadows is at issue again.

Currently in the news: Several underage customers were allowed to gamble at The Meadows currently. They did not appear to be more than fifteen or sixteen years old.

Security and floor attendants are noted watching TV continuously!

I seen what appeared to be underage gamblers currently, as mentioned above. But, someone that works for The Meadows told me that reporting claims to The PA State Gaming Board gets those reporting incidents kicked out. I say it's a threat scaring customers from reporting known issues and incidents. Apparently, The Meadows isn't above the board nor honest on several very important issues.
