9/29/19 - Disappointing that there we so many downed slot machines. Had fun there though with what they had. Got to sit at the bar, play video poker, watch the NE Patriots won & have free Stella Artois!!
We drive to the Meadows 1-2 times a month. It has become one of our favorite places . As two old codgers we enjoy the atmosphere since we go to a casino to relax and have fun. The machines have been good to us. We play pennies and nickle poker ,both with a nice selection of machines. The free play, gifts and food has been generous and appreciated . We hve been to all the casinos in the tri-state area (Pa,WVa,NY) and find the Meadows is best . The food is good ( we will miss the sub shop it was always our favorite). It would be nice to have a self serve beverage spot . It was sad to see the negative reviews when we enjoy your casino so much.
I'm surprised at some of the comments regarding the Meadows. Now that the table games are open the casino is a true "Atlantic City" experience. Okay, no sports betting like Nevada but everything else. Good variety of slots, table games. You can go downstairs and watch live racing or simulcast. There is an excellent restaurant (Steakhouse) upstairs overlooking the track. Good fast food available. A nice casual restaurant, too. And even a bowling alley if you want to get away from the tables for a while. I have participated in some of the promotions--they are giving away good prizes every week. The comments regarding whether the slots are "loose" or not are based on individual experience. In fact, look at the overall payout percentages--the Meadows is at about 91%--just behind the Rivers but at a respectable level (state law says a casino has to pay back only 80%). If you want to spend the extra time to drive to West Virginia you should get some perks--the WVA casinos are going to have to have promotions, etc... to convince people to keep driving the extra distance. Since I like wagering on the Greyhounds better than Harness horses I will continue to go occasionally. However, for an overall experience I think the Meadows offers a good variety of gaming options and does a good job of providing them!
All aspects of professionalism are growing steadily at this western Pa. gaming resort. Finally, some classic Vegas-style entertainment has been offered two weeks in a row. A Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra impersonator are great in the settings available.
New year's party for Platinum card holders a huge success by generous management. Bo and Bob Morelli as Dean Martin"Live And Swinging" ; THOSE GUYS ARE REAL PROS. Not like other impersonator "knock-offs".
