We have been going to the Meadows since the tent days. The last couple of years have been so bad that our allotment for gambling is gone in less than an hour. We are seniors so we can't do the high bets and that's the only way to win. So we have to join many of our friends and give up on the Meadows. I feel that each new owner has taken the place down another notch. Too bad because there are some nice employees there.
I live in the area and visit this place often. I find that the slots are very very tight. I would prefer the quarter or dollar machines but the design is poor. They have way too many lines. If you're playing a $1 machine, it doesn't need to have 10+ lines for a max play. Even the penny machines you will find yourself playing $3-12 a spin depending on the machine. I haven't hit a jackpot in 2 years which is crazy how much I go there, max jackpot in the last 10 years that I've was $1,200 with two $1,000 before that. I average 2-3 visits a week and was platinum player which is going down as I slow down going and soon quit. Free play is a joke, they don't really provide any good free play anymore and if you actually hit something on it, even a hundred or so then consider yourself very very lucky. Promotions aren't that great and never won anything to comment on those except I don't know how I could not win a single thing in 10+ years going there.
The waitresses aren't the best and quickest but I find that they are all polite and typically smiling. If you don't go to the bar for your own beer, you may not get one. I find the average wait time is 20-70 mins to get a drink and don't even do the free beer which is a shame. I've left because I couldn't get service numerous times. I've received free beer vouchers that I couldn't use because you can't use at the bar because you need to be gambling to use and back to the waitress issues. It's a catch 22.
The tables are nice, I prefer the $5-10 tables but very hard to find. Even the $5 texas hold em turns into a $20 table quickly if you want to see the flop which you always should there.
The food is average. Food court; pizza is great and think it packs a flavor punch. Usually out of pep pizza so need to grab a couple slices of something else. The Stromboli isn't that great, has the flavor but mostly dough. 12" Stromboli is 7 inches of straight dough. The burger place have great burgers, I've only done the single and double stacker but they were delicious. The buffet should just be skipped if you're thinking about it. You're better off eating anywhere else. The buffet is expensive and not very much to choose from along with no flavor. I advised the desserts were frozen and looked like mold was on a couple pieces, waitress just walked away without acknowledgement, she wasn't a good/polite waitress and the tip reflected it. I usually tip 20-25% but she didn't get a great tip, I felt bad but never mad at a waitress like her before.
I find the customer service is typically polite and decent, as long as you're not waiting on someone. Refer back to waitresses or could take a while to get a slot tech. I find if you have an issue with a machine to get someone there within 10-20 mins, just press the service button on every machine around you. They hate it but better than waiting 30-40 mins.
Atmosphere is typical, depending on the people there. I've had people steal and attempt to steal my money before. Once I walked away from a machine and forgot $5 voucher on it. Was about 20 feet away and turned around to find a guy playing the machine with my voucher gone, contacted security and was told would take about 4-5 hours to research and get the results which I needed to be there for it. Yeah, I'll stay and spend $500-1,000 more dollars to try and get my money back. He laughed at me and told me owell, I was about to beat him but then I would get arrested. Another time, a lady sat at my machine and started playing my money when I walked to through away garbage. Argued with me that she'll just keep the money and I could have the machine, I contacted security and they took the voucher and brought me my portion of the money. You need to be cautious about scum bags there like any other place and the casino doesn't always have your back.
Thats why I'll be going from Platinum to Silver and eventually just say owell and start going other places. I tried to touch up on all subjects and hope this helps you out, visit or avoid, I tried to stay neutral.
Great atmosphere, big variety of slots, very good food at a fair price. Most slots paid out consistently and was able to play for a long period of time and even left up $200.00. The only downer was that I earned almost 2000 slot points and it was only worth 2.50 off of my food bill. AC still has the best perks. Overall I loved the place and will come back.
Forget it when they give out a gift for players. Went today and stood over an hour and half to get a jacket! Only 4 hours into the promo and they were out of our size. Many time have gone before it ends and they are out of it and they give you $10. They can take your money but don't want to give you comps. Players club only has snacks and only open til 10pm. Hello, there are people there after that and the cookies, chips and nuts they put out should be there all of the time. Thinking of going to the Rivers.
