Hollywood Toledo used to be a great place to gamble. Not anymore and not since new management got greedy. The bathrooms are poorly maintained. The comps are decent at times but not enough to keep you coming back. Anywhere but here is my honest suggestion.
I have visited this casino a number of times over the years. It is a really clean and bright but that's where it ends. If you like losing this is the place to go. Possibly the worst payback in all the casinos I have visited over the years. Go the extra few miles and visit Detroit or Windsor. At least you have a chance there of bringing a few dollars home. I rated it one star but I wish it were no stars.
Okay, So I go quite often being retired, It is what it is, I know I'm not going to Bankrupt them play penny's, I go for something to do sometimes, I win sometimes like a couple of months ago.! I was playing a Penny Machine in the back and got eight free spins on a $1.45 or $1.35 cent bet something like that I don't remember exactly, while talking to my wife it gave me 460 more free spins and about 10 spins later it gave me an additional 460 free spins.! Won 5 grand when all was said and done, I even took the Pay chance on the last 100 spins it was a couple of hundred dollars or $38 bucks, got the $38 Bucks maybe I should have just let it play off the rest of the free spins..Yeah at times it appears that they seem really tight and most of the time I do not win, but I guess that's why they call it gambling !
The casino over all is nice. But when it come to promotions or taking care of their reward members. Standing in line for a candy bar with a potential prize. Yes I'm silly for doing it, but really. They have 3 people in on area trying to take care of well over 150 people. Line is front to back of the casino. Only benefit is that o can't loose my money standing in line. You would think some from the casino would figure this out.
I took my 98 year old Father to the Casino on Wednesday afternoon for the $7.99 Senior Buffet and a little gambling. He is transported in a wheelchair by TARPS (a minimum of 1-1/2 hour stay anywhere you go), and is on Hospice for multiple medical conditions, making it very difficult to get a "valid" gov't. ID. This was a good day for him, and he has been wanting to go to the Casino. Not only is TARPS forbidden to drop off at Valet Parking, they have to park OUTSIDE the garage and have someone wheel them inside to the elevators. My Dad did not have a Casino Card. His driver's license expired last year, so he was unable to take advantage of the Senior Discount at the buffet. I spoke with 3 people, including the manager. Without a "valid" photo ID (TARPS photo ID not incl.), he would have to pay $17.99 for the Senior Buffet. I explained he is 98 years old (clearly a senior) and a WWII Vet (doesn't mean anything to them of course). Rules are rules. Just had to let you know of their strict policy on senior discounts. It's really disturbing that they won't break their rules for a $10.00 discount for a senior lunch. And that's really the bottom line - we are talking $10.00 to make a Senior happy.
