Jumer's is my favorite non Vegas casino. Rooms are good, staff is excellent, and fair gaming. They have plenty of full pay video poker at the quarter level. DJ's steakhouse is excellent and affordable. The cafe is very good with great breakfast specials all day long. Players club is good and comps are very fair. I can see why Jumer's wins many awards from the Casino player best of editions.

They remove ice cream early & the soft ice cream is running.  The salad person pushes the food on the the floor when she is cleaning, she heard me say something to my husband as she turned her head & looked at us.  I am surprised if nobody falls tonight.  The prime was nicely done tonight.
I couldn't find a manager in the buffet tonight at all.

About 15 months ago, my ratings would have been 5 across the board. Once Penn National bought out the owners, the casino and hotel has become concerned with 1 thing - cutting corners, raising prices and reducing comps. We live in Milwaukee and used to travel 200 miles to Jumers 1 a month when the offered us a free room (even on Friday and Saturday nights), free buffet, $15-$25 in free play and would comp us breakfast Sunday morning ($20) after playing $200 over Friday night and Saturday. We have chosen to go to closer Illinois and Iowa casinos as all of those items quickly declined once Penn National took over. We noticed a sharp decline in the staff as they have become less interested in customers. Buffet discounts have gone away - even the 5-cent chocolates on the hotel bed pillows are gone. All of the restaurants have raised prices by 20% over the last 3 years. We spend our time across the river in Iowa and come across to Jumers for a few hours maybe 3 times a year instead of each month. Over the last 3 years, 25% of the penny slots have been replaced by higher denominations. Odds at craps tables and blackjack have worsened. Sad decline in a great casino that reminded us of Las Vegas where we lived for 5 years. We spend our money at closer Illinois casinos and think about the past good times at Jumers.

We visited Jumer's this week and had an enjoyable time. The hotel rooms are nice and clean as is the casino. We ate at the Buffett and it was delicious, so many choices and great desserts. My husband and I really like the no smoking in the casino. I talked to many people and asked if they have been to the Iowa casinos across the river and most of them said that the Iowa casinos are too smokey and they enjoy the cleanliness at Jumer's. I get great comps from Jumer's. We will be back soon.
