My mom and I live in Virginia and we make the drive to Dover about 6x per year. We love it. Sometimes we win and of course we lose sometimes. We love the no smoking. Very friendly staff. Great comps with nice rooms and free slot play and food. We have become loyal players and we have not been to WV in over 4 years and it is a closer drive.
We had the pleasure of visiting Dover Downs last weekend. We normally frequent Charlestown, but since we never win there, we decided to try something new.

The rooms were pristine and the meals outstanding. The range of the restaurants covered the scope from quick snack to first class dining. Dining while watching or betting on the harnass racing was very entertaining.
The non-smoking atmosphere is a pleasure. The range of slot machines from penny to twenty dollars covers all gamblers tastes with the newest in video blackjack tables recently installed only increasing the variety.
Eventhough we didn't hit big jackpots, we enjoyed playing a wide variety of games and "broke even" for each multi-day visit. The benefits of visiting this complex will only increase with the multi-million dollar expansion under construction.
If there is a downside, the influx of NASCAR faithful to the monster mile races puts a strain on the level of service. But, if you are lucky enough to get a trackside room, the view is unbelieveable.
