I travel from DC a least twice every other month because I use to go more but the odds have changed on slots and I wouldn't have know this had not this gentleman smoking outside with me. That change my perspective of coming so much. I love the atmosphere and the people gaming are friendly. If you just want to get away for the day, not just gambling but shop, I would come to DE.

Tournament structure odd. Penalities if you accidentally muck a hand. Dealers do not enforce penalties fairly. Watched dealer have melt down and say " I'm not paid enough to put up with this shit" when floor reversed his call on a hand. He then got up and demanded to be replaced at the table by another dealer. Have played poker in 21 different casinos and never saw such unprofessional behavior from a dealer. He should be fired!

Accodation good. Food ok but nothing special. If you are a Elite Club player you can get comps but you have to ask your host for every meal. If you want to eat breakfast at 7am there is no host available to comp you. Too many penny slots they could lure more quality players with better slots higher denominations and especially for video poker. Highest video poker machine is $1.00. For some reason they don't understand that higher limit machines generate higher profits for them. When the new MGM opens in Maryland they can close the doors. There only salvation is to have a "player advisory committee" who can give them better suggestions for upgrading the casino experience. Unless of course unless they wish to remain the penny machine casino. EVF.

If you're not a local, Dover Downs is definitely not worth going out of your way for. Casino & Hotel are located in a strip mall that's seen better days. Casino is in decline. Slots okay, but "shady" types roaming the floor made us feel unsafe. Parking lot had homeless men begging for $. Hotel amenities lacking. Bad experience. And I never lost so much money playing slots! Even my favorite games never paid off (I go to Aqueduct in NY and Atlantic City several times a year).
