I travel from DC a least twice every other month because I use to go more but the odds have changed on slots and I wouldn't have know this had not this gentleman smoking outside with me. That change my perspective of coming so much. I love the atmosphere and the people gaming are friendly. If you just want to get away for the day, not just gambling but shop, I would come to DE.
I'm from New Jersey and let me tell me you, the service at Dover Downs is unsurpassed compared to the belligerent behavior my husband and I have received from staff at major Atlantic City casinos over the years.
The rooms are clean, the food is exceptional, the staff is friendly, (they'll walk you to the restroom instead of pointing it out) and I'm happy to say I'm a platinum member now! I've walked with $520 in winnings on one occasion after about 5 or 6 visits coming in with $100. The few other times I wasn't so lucky, but the friendly service goes a long way for me.
