Forget it when they give out a gift for players. Went today and stood over an hour and half to get a jacket! Only 4 hours into the promo and they were out of our size. Many time have gone before it ends and they are out of it and they give you $10. They can take your money but don't want to give you comps. Players club only has snacks and only open til 10pm. Hello, there are people there after that and the cookies, chips and nuts they put out should be there all of the time. Thinking of going to the Rivers.
Slots are worse than ever. The slots take money at an alarming rate with no payout. A $100 bill can literally be gone in 10 minutes playing at lowest amount. I have not walked out with payout in my pocket since early in 2011. I've stopped going there and am trying out Casinos in the area. I have not seen someone win a hand payout in over a year. Tried going all different times and days with no luck. Also, there is a noticeable decrease in crowds. Gee, can't figure out why. Casino clean and food decent, slots stink.
I must start off saying that I did not play the slots at the Meadows. I always go with my gut and my gut told me that the slots were not paying off. Also, I saw a lot of disappointed slot players and didn't hear a lot of winning bells, sirens, and horns from the slots.
Played Blackjack along with Mini Baccarat and enjoyed them both. The dealers were pleasant, especially at the Baccarat table where I spent the majority of my time. Kudos to Meadows for having $10 tables for Baccarat, which seems to be unusual for non-Vegas casinos.
My father enjoyed the casino as it appeared to have a more mature crowd and atmosphere. Being younger, it wasn't my ideal atmosphere but I had no complaints and I definitely have been in worse casinos (can you say Presque Isle).
Food selection was good in my opinion. I really haven't seen any benefits to their Player's Club, especially since I didn’t' play slots.
Overall, I liked the Meadows and would go back. I'm not sure if it's the ideal place for slots, but, for table games it’s better than most of the casinos in PA and WV
In the past 5 weeks I have visited 6 times. Each and every time they have done nothing but take at an alarming rate. What really ticked me off is I would play a max bet on a penny machine to the tune of 100 dollars the moment I played minimum bet the machine would hit the bonus. They cannot say this is random since it happened 6 times in a row. WAKE UP GAMING COMMISSION. this is no longer random. They had their chance but I will not be back. I will go to Mountaineer instead. Out of 4 trips there I have came out ok 4 times.
I understand that the casinos are in business to make money but, they need to payout more than 89% in order to keep people coming back. The state gaming control board requires they payout at a minimum of 85% and the Meadows is just 3% higher than that!!....come on, Indian casinos out west pay better that that. Yes, when they first opened they were paying out between 92 and 93%, and I understand that they are not going to pay that now because they sucked people in, but don't tell me the reason it has dropped is because of table games and the gaming atmosphere you provide.
An example of this greed is the new gold and platinum players club. The old club had a nice bar you could sit at and had game consoles (keno, poker, etc.) in it, NOW, the new players club bar does not have any chairs to sit at, games to play, and it doesn't even offer draft beer (GREAT BAR HUH). I am a gold member but, I don't think I will continue to qualify for it because there is no point. You go there and spend between 300 and 400 dollars twice a week and they give you 10 dollars in free play-woopdey freakin doo. I don't care that the casino gives away cars and toasters-how about giving away MONEY- it's a novel idea I know.... but it seems to work for other casinos. I have even heard from casino employees that their pay has suffered because since the payouts have gone down so has their tips.
Yes, the casino is clean and the location is nice, but I don't go to a casino to admire the pictures on the wall. All I ask is that if people are going to spend their hard earned money there, maybe give a little bit back once in a while. Let someone walk in with 300 bucks and stay longer than 75 minutes.
I suggest that if you like to gamble, hold off and save for weekend trips to Atlantic City and Vegas..just make sure you go to casinos that are not owned by the Cannery Casino Company since they are the ones that own the Meadows.
