1. They use to send out coupons now do not or just the minimal.
2. Also changed food coupons so must use that day.
3. Do not win on slots.
4. Cancel keno tournaments if not enough people show up that day.
They are cheap.

I've been visiting Spirit Mountain since they opened. They have come a long way and are making improvements. Unlike Atlantic City and Vegas casinos, Spirit Mountain does use some of their gaming funds to improve the community and native lands.

This month alone I have won two jackpots and some pretty big wins on different denomination slots. No, I don't play only large denominations. Some of the funds are being used to give away some larger prizes such as Roll for a Million and Ring of Riches, where one of a few lucky drawings are rewarded. I personally would rather have some more payout on the slots and skip the drawings. They are too crowded to make me comfortable so I rarely come on those days just because it's like walking in the middle of a cattle drive. Finding a machine to play is impossible because every seat is filled, even with non-players waiting for the drawing.

The new Cedar Plank buffet is much nicer than the old buffet. More selections, fresh food, wide variety and many choices. Twice I have told the staff what I like and passed on comments to the chefs/servers. They listen and adjust.

I've never had any problems at the hotel except once when the rooms were not cleaned and ready for check-in because cleaning staff didn't show up, however I was comped an upgrade and everyone made sure I was satisfied and comfortable.

This is my favorite Oregon casino.

The new Cedar Plank buffet is wonderful with lots of choices of salads, international foods, and desserts. It's a real bargain for the price, and even better on a coupon day. Seafood night is slightly more expensive, so we tend to eat a late lunch because of the cost difference followed by a light cafe dinner if we aren't too full from lunch or if we play late.

Comps are not huge but I have used my points for cash (available on certain days), and for free or reduced cost buffet. Using my club card gets me on the mailing list, which is always good for free cash, free gifts, reduced hotel rates, and free meals. Points will expire if not used in a year.

This month I booked a deluxe room for $16 using a free standard room coupon with a $16 upgrade to a deluxe room. Weekdays are cheaper than weekends, and the hotel fills up quickly on nights they have a concert. I book my rooms a few weeks before I go and never have a problem. I like the new decor and even though it's dark, it's tasteful and much better than the old rooms. I have also stayed in a Jr Suite - definitely recommended if you can afford it. The beds and sheets were so comfortable and soft I woke up totally refreshed.

I don't look out the window all day so the view doesn't bother me. I was there during the construction phase and because the hotel is a half moon shape it was hard to ignore the noise but I don't know that it could be helped. At least it was during daylight hours.

I strictly play slots because I love the entertainment. My wins vary as with any casino, but I play for a long time and it's entertainment. During my playing sessions I've hit several jackpots, won large amounts and gone home with more than I came. It all depends on the session and when I decide to quit. I play all denominations from pennies to one dollar - not usually more due to my small bank roll. My husband has hit three jackpots over $1,000 in the past year all on penny slots.

My advice is to go for fun and be surprised when you win. Definitely sign up for the club card.

We have stayed at Spirit Mountain quite a bit and have loved the rooms in the new wing of the hotel. Last year they decided the new rooms were "Deluxe" rooms and started charging $20 more than the rooms in the older part of the hotel. We were okay with that because the rooms were big and the decor nice. We could get a room on the west side of the hotel away from the parking lot and with a view. We decided to go this weekend and pay the weekend rate of $149 for the deluxe room. Surprisingly they had last minute rooms...this has never happened before. When we arrived we were informed they were renovating the rooms in the new wing and that our room was either overlooking the courtyard, or the entrance to the hotel. To our surprise our room was in the old part of the hotel and they had "renovated" them and were now considered "deluxe" rooms. In my opinion the decorating choices were awful. Dark brown, black and coffee colored, dark and very uncomfortable. The sheets actually scratched, the furniture was dusty and there were hairs in the bathtub. So the room overlooking the courtyard actually overlooked the dumpster the construction workers were using, along with the 6 outhouses they were using. Yuk again. So we asked to be moved to the front of the hotel. Of course we listened to the diesel buses all evening and then well into the night the boom boom boom from the music at the nightclub. The last couple of years the slot machines are dirty and service is below par. Needless to say we will be going to Lincoln City or Florence (which has an amazing hotel and casino) rather than stay at Spirit Mountain.

By far the worst casino in Oregon. The play here is so bad that I don't even know how it could be legal for them to operate. The only reason they get business is because of their location. We were once regulars years ago but decided to stop going. You will literally be feeding the machines and not even get any play time out of it. The players club cards are worthless and their promo offers are laughable.
