We've visited the Murphy location three times in 8 weeks. There's an awful lot of whining on this site about the slots being tight, but I must say, we've walked away winning some very handsome sums all three times. And, most importantly, we've had lots of fun and laughs in relative comfort.
My only complaint is that the non-smoking area is tiny...I need to hold my breath to get out of the building for all of the smoke. But I suspect they are doing all they can to evacuate the building of smoke.
On the positive side, the waitstaff, cashiers, and security folks have all been just super friendly, and the food is outstanding considering the only thing currently available is fast food. We can't wait for the expansion, the introduction of good restaurants, and hopefully, some day, entertainment. Great job, Harrah's! Keep up the great work!! We're SO glad you came to Murphy, NC!!

That place in Murphy NC is the worst gaming pay outs ever. And I have to say. Just because it's nice there or the people plus great that work there, doesn't make a casino a great place. Its the wins and the excitement., if the casino is cheap and gives you .10 cents. On a 2.00 bet, on a 5 of a kind in a slot machine, and you have a dealer in black back throwing cards when you said no and you could of won that hand, I say it's pretty shitty I would never spend any money there. Cherokee casino is not bad sometimes, but shitty payouts most of the time. I think as long as a casino uses their money to keep the reservation going is not a casino. Its a fund raiser, and every time you play there you have to remember that your not there to come out with any money. You're giving your money away, it's all looks and no play.... Valley River, and the one in Biloxi is not any good either. Same crap. It's just harrahs casino. Completely, even there online slots are that way. I don't do too a casino for charity cases, cause they don't care how you feel, they don't care too change. They would rather tell you to f... Off in really nice way and hope they never see you again.
