Everyone on here is crying because they lost money. The parking lot is clean the people are friendly and the slots do pay out. Like any place its hot and cold. I have hit here just like at horseshoe and mgm and they are all about the same. Also the staff is nice, the food places are fine, the new hotel is very nice best in the BWI AA area. People crying about losing money when they go to casinos are a joke. that is the whole job of the casino. I go here probably 5 times a month and win at least 2 or 3 of those times. Also so far this year as a platinum member I have gotten a ton of free play, and hit on that too.
I have been going to Maryland Live on and off for several years. I agree you don't win a lot but, you win. Compared to MGM your odds of winning are greater. I have won several thousand dollars at Maryland live over the last couple of months. I did not play thousand to win. I only played $80. Each night I won. I have played the same MGM and have never won more $300. Based on those odds and the fact that Maryland Live is a lot longer I prefer going to Maryland Live.
Compared to Dover or Ocean Downs, Live! takes the cake. it's nice, clean, well laid out. lots of tables, loads of slots! nice high roller rooms and great poker room. They operate following MD rules so can't blame for $ for a drink. The MD rules allow slots to be 87% to 95% payout. the machines seem to play that way. if you play low hand BJ, watch the dealers, these are your "new guys", who are still learning their job. the higher the min. bet the more experienced the dealer. Makes since. if I'm dropping $100 a hand I want a veteran dealer not pimple faced Timmy. Can't wait for MGM to open then the ride from Norfolk,VA will be less grueling.
Been there twice. First on a busy Sunday afternoon and then a weekday afternoon. Very clean, doesn't have smoke in your face or ashes on the table. I'm a $10 to 20 blackjack player. A couple $10 tables on weekday, planty of 15 tables open on a busy Sunday. So the reports of high mins are no longer true. Good customer service, players club, dealers, and pit crew were nice even though I'm obviously not a high roller. Slots are plentiful with average payouts that any casino has. Normal player friendly rules. Essentially they do the opposite of what Atlantic City does wrong. There are other things to do for non gamblers like Bass Pro Shop and the mall. Obviously they're doing some things well if business is so strong.
I have read some of the reviews here and disagree with a lot of them. Although I know most of these are personal opinions so please don't be offended. I have, as many of you, traveled and played in many different casinos and I feel Maryland Live! is one of the better places I have played. I will admit the security guards at the entrances are a pain in the butt, and the food places inside are not very good, but as far as gaming goes, it's top notch. Table limits are high because of where it is located, and the new casino opening at The National Harbor will be even worse. Overall I give it a four out of five stars.
