Stayed at the Inn was disappointed with staff they were unprofessional didn't care for my needs I've been going for years this experience reminded not to go back to this Casino were I can be treated as a guest not a pest. There always one that doesn't give good customer service but it was my experience with all staff. Other casino I gone to treatment was great around lake Charles. I'm from San Antonio a 6 hour drive that I regret due to treatment from the inn. I recommend using this feedback toward your staff to strengthen your hotel staff. Before you loss more customers.
I had read some rather poor reviews regarding The Inn and was a bit concerned when my wife made reservations there. However, the room was surprisingly good -- especially for $89 a night. Beds were VERY comfortable, TV was very nice, bathroom was clean -- I was pleasantly surprised. However, on Thursday, June 19, 2011 they only had one guy working both at the front desk and as the bell man. He actually asked my wife to help him with the overpacked and overstuffed bags of another customer when she was checking in! When she refused, he sneered, "Thanks for the help." Kind of snotty, but they should have more help on duty.
The Inn is just a short walk over to the casino. They do provide shuttles every few minutes, but they shut them down late at night. The buffet was OK but way overpriced -- $16.99 for what my wife called an $8.99 buffet. The roast beef at the carving station was overdone and dry, but I can't eat beef anyway so I had their links which were very good. I had a piece of chocolate cake, but it was so awful I didn't finish it. Instead, I had some coconut cake and it was very good.
The casino was special in that they have five-nickel video poker. Most casinos have long since dispensed with that. You don't win the big jackpots, but if you're careful you can win a little bit of money over a period of time. Beats getting drilled at the slots. Lots of machines available as well. Went to L'Auberge a while back and you couldn't even find any kind of quarter machines because it was so packed.
We only stayed one night, but all in all it was pretty pleasant.
I have been to all the casinos Mississippi, Louisiana and along I-10 to Florida they all have some Ups and Downs But for the money and Rooms and service, I always go back to The Isle for Gambling and a couple of days to Get Away. I have WON more than I have LOST, in the Casino, and the last time I was there the Lobster and the Steak and the Desserts were too Fantastic !!! and Believe me I love Food but I couldn't eat it all. The Casino is Big Enough and the Games are new,,, not Like the other one in the middle of the State.
I love this casino. I have been coming here for many years way before they built the new one in town. I have visited all of them & always come back here. The #1 reason why is because I normally win. I dont come for the food, drinks or entertainment..... I come to play the slots & to win. And thats exactly what happens to me most of the time. And I have to travel 3 hours just to get here.
The other big casinos in town & close by are very nice, but I dont win there so why would I keep going. Save your money and come to the Isle.
Since January 15, 2010 the Isle of Capri has lowered its video poker returns significantly. Multi-hand 5¢ has been dropped from 99% to 97-98%; 50¢ VP has been dropped by as much as 2% to the 97% range. Quarters have been lowered this week to 97-98% and most appalling is the removal of all Deuces Wild, Deuces Wild Bonus and Jacks or Better. Returns now match the other Lake Charles casino-Lauberge du Lac.
Additionally, casino executive hosts, several secretaries, and staff have been fired leading to lowered morale. The hotel staff still does a great job but the morale is very low amongst employees. The buffet continues to decline in quality.
On the slot front, many new slots are being provided for those who play slots and virtual blackjack machines are constantly being played. New blackjack and multi-player slots are being added.
