I had read some rather poor reviews regarding The Inn and was a bit concerned when my wife made reservations there. However, the room was surprisingly good -- especially for $89 a night. Beds were VERY comfortable, TV was very nice, bathroom was clean -- I was pleasantly surprised. However, on Thursday, June 19, 2011 they only had one guy working both at the front desk and as the bell man. He actually asked my wife to help him with the overpacked and overstuffed bags of another customer when she was checking in! When she refused, he sneered, "Thanks for the help." Kind of snotty, but they should have more help on duty.

The Inn is just a short walk over to the casino. They do provide shuttles every few minutes, but they shut them down late at night. The buffet was OK but way overpriced -- $16.99 for what my wife called an $8.99 buffet. The roast beef at the carving station was overdone and dry, but I can't eat beef anyway so I had their links which were very good. I had a piece of chocolate cake, but it was so awful I didn't finish it. Instead, I had some coconut cake and it was very good.

The casino was special in that they have five-nickel video poker. Most casinos have long since dispensed with that. You don't win the big jackpots, but if you're careful you can win a little bit of money over a period of time. Beats getting drilled at the slots. Lots of machines available as well. Went to L'Auberge a while back and you couldn't even find any kind of quarter machines because it was so packed.

We only stayed one night, but all in all it was pretty pleasant.
