I don't mind being carded at the front door as its only a 10 second process. My last trip to Gun Lake Casino I was carded and as I was taking my license out of my wallet the attendant saw two of my USAA credit cards and said, "USAA?....a military guy, what branch?". I replied, "the Army" to which he laughed and said, "oh geez...." in a drawn out way.
Being a Black level Passport card holder I'm confident my Host Nate Matkin would love it if I gave my business to the casino in Battle Creek.
I don't expect to win at every trip to Gun Lake Casino. It's more entertainment, striking up hilarious conversations with other patrons, my host, and just getting out of the house. The gaming floor is kept clean and the waitresses are plenty. I'd like to see newer slots as there are many repeat older titled slots on the floor, way too many in fact. Some slots have been on the floor since opening back in 2011 (Hee-Haw) yet others are there for a year or two and removed (Hot Hot Super Respin China Moon, Record Jackpots, Wish You Were Here, and Hot Hot Super Jackpots 2x Wild & Crazy).
To sum it up - its hit or miss as far as the staff. Being insulted before even walking into the Casino is NOT a positive customer experience. On the other hand, once in and playing, my Host Nate Matkin is so nice, pleasant, and willing to go above and beyond. Though I never bothered Nate for anything even though he reminds at the end of our catching-up talks, "If there is anything I can do, or if there is anything you need, don't hesitate to ask", I felt compelled to voice my disappointment with one of the door attendants.
If you want to go where the slots are so tight you would have thought you were askin a Dutchman for $5 and if you like shoulder to shoulder capacity...then go here! If this doesn't sound appealing to you then stay away. Some people that work there that are in customer service...the floor security mainly are pretty garbage!
The Gun Lake Casion slot machines are tighter than every before. They take the fun out of gambling. I was there the other night playing the Mayan Chief @ .50 cents and got 216 spins, retriggered 164, 24, 8, 10. A total of 422 spins to my surprise it only paid out $131.00. This is really disheartning. In addition, everyone around me was complaining about the same issue.
