Casino cheating
This casino cheated me out of 372,000 by backing up cards, which violated rules and regulations of the government MLGCA. The MLGCA wrote me a letter saying that MGM was wrong but the government didn’t do anything else about this matter. So if you go there, make sure you pay close ATTENTION and don’t become another VICTIM LIKE ME!

This is the tightest casinos I’ve ever been to.Horrible slot gaming experience! Going downhill fast. Slots are configured at their lowest RTP settings. Progressive holds are also adjusted daily to meet revenue targets. Loopholes in Maryland’s gaming enforcement allow for this, see below for explanation). Maryland gaming commission is constantly adjusting payout configurations, hold, progressive allocations, floor mix, and par settings, etc. Very Poor beverage service on the casino floor. Lacks feel and vibe of a Vegas Casino. Maryland Casinos are taxed at around 67% which is the highest of any state in the country. The impact of this is clearly evident in their payback. Maryland provides no specific information on their payback regulations or on how they regulate. They mandate (a loosely worded) average payback of 84% which is no longer specific to one machine but across the whole floor. This is lowered from 87% which used to be the requirement. They are having record state revenue due to these adjustments and their slot machines have average daily wins (holds) that are higher than any other Vegas or Atlantic City Casino. The Maryland gaming commission, who is responsible for the not only the regulatory side but the operations and control of the slot machines, is really the criminal here.

It is almost impossible to have a sustained winning session. They are making so many changes on the floor currently (never a good sign for players) replacing a lot of machines, layout updates. They are hosting so many marketing events almost daily (the marketing goods is how they skew the payback stats to player), free play, giveaways, gift shop dollars, cars, food credits, drawings etc. all of which gets rolled up to their payback percentage. This is how they get away with setting the slots tight. When you use free play, the bet is returned after every spin, meaning that the machine is calculating a 100 % payback when you don't even win anything.

They have enough data now on player habits that they utilze the information to adjust machines during certain times when they expect free play use even down to the machines. I have personally seen the accounting statistics on a few popular games (aristocrat buffalo gold and grand) , SG (dancing drums) thanks to some naive slot techs who showed me the configuration menus. Actual payback was at 81% on the buffalo And 73% on dancing drums which is substantially below the legal state minimum payback or RTP of 84 % supposedly “required” in Maryland. Some of the Konami 1cent machines have actual paybacks in the 70% range. All very interesting since these are well below the minimum Theo for these machines.

It’s really sad what the Maryland gaming commison is doing here and across all the state casinoa. This is not a place to gamble on slots anymore, easily the tightest casino I have ever played at and I’ve been everywhere. I guarantee these tactics and loopholes in the state regulations or lack there of will ultimately come back to haunt them.

I'm not sure the other reviewers ever actually went to MGM National Harbor. The place is like a smaller version of the Bellagio, right down to the flower displays in the atrium. The food options are plentiful and all are good. The best though is Fish by Jose Andres. The only food option I wouldn't recommend is Voltaggio Brothers Steak House. The food there is ok, but WAY over priced for what you get. The poker room is fantastic and consistently has the most tables running of any casino on the East Coast. I'm not a big fan of slots, but they have a large variety to choose from (but they are spaced too close together in my opinion). There are some ok paytables for video poker if you look, and there are a few blackjack tables that pay 3 to 2. However, many of the blackjack tables pay 6 to 5 and should be avoided completely. Overall I'd highly recommend this casino.

Located just off the Southern beltway, MGM is easy to spot and easy to access from the South. If you're coming from other directions, you'll have to fight the horrendous traffic that D.C. is notorious for but that's not the fault of the property. We've been to a lot of casinos and MGM National Harbor was really hyped up as being THE place to go so we decided to give it a try over the Easter weekend. Other reviewers have complained about the parking and bad signage and no, nothing has changed...it's still bad. Wait to be insulted when they finally charge for parking as the ticket machines and barriers are already in place.
There's no "Pissazz" here and by that I mean the Vibe, having fun atmosphere casinos are supposed to have. Looks like a very large poorly decorated warehouse on the inside that they stuffed full of slot machines and table games. The piped in music more resembled "elevator" trash junk music than any sort of jamming or at the very least appropriate tunes for a casino. Heck, this place pales in comparison to some of the smaller casinos we've visited over the years. Absolutely no smiling faces here from either the patrons or the staff which seemed to be noticeably absent. No laughter, no-one having fun except the smiling faces on the local escort ladies (of which there were plenty)....they just stick out if you know what I mean; in the arm of older gents. Didn't try the food....we know better and as far as any drink service goes....non-existent. Good luck with that; maybe if you drop a grand or two they might come by. This is a non smoking casino and us criminals that do smoke are fine with that. There is a very large exterior outdoor smoking area overlooking the beltway and Reagan international Airport... if you feel the need for a nicotine rush but was disgusting and filthy. Looked like the area was exempt from cleaning. Ya, I know smoking is a nasty dirty habit, but there is no excuse for overflowing trash cans and cigarette disposal vessels. The bathrooms seem to be treated with the same lack of cleaning as the smoking area and almost half of the soap and water dispensers were not working. Wife said the Ladies bathroom was also disgusting.
Our alloted money of 1K for the trip was used up in about 2 hours.....so basically that means that you're not going to get much "seat" time for your money as the slots are SUPER tight. Yeah, and good luck trying to find a table game with a low buy in.
We won't be going back as all in all it was a VERY disappointing experience.....heck I'd even say for us "seasoned" gamblers.....it was insulting.

Glitzy but if you play slots you will virtually be robbed!
Beware of this.
You can end up dishing out $3000 and still not get a decent payout!
