I totally ignore slots but did notice another review below talking about the 90+% payback figure here like that was a 'good' number. It is not a good number and it certainly does not mean that the average player will leave with 90+% of their money.
For Video Poker the pay tables are not very good, also indicating poor payback.
I usually do o.k. here at Blackjack and Craps, winning more times than not.
Food is mixed. I think the buffet is mediocre, not always fresh. There are two fast food prices, which work for something quick and reasonably priced. Comps can be used. The Woodfire Grille has very good food and service but it's pricey, unless you have comps you can use.
Been going over to this casino off and on now for several years and I am done period with them. They have the tightest fricken machines you will ever come across anywhere. Oh sure there's a few people that stumble across a winner but they are few and far between. There is no 'win some lose some' over there... its all lose some and then lose some more. Your money goes so fast its unbelievable! And if you are lucky enough to get into a bonus round, don't expect much. They make a million dollars a week there, so think about that, a million dollars sucked out of the community and transferred somewhere else to benefit a slight few. Casinos are bad in general but this one is the worst!!! You will never win here, mark my words!! If I was the Governor of Iowa I would shut it down completely!!
This casino was a nice place to go before the Vegas people took over . Customer service went in the tank . Employees act like they do not care if you are there or not. Slot payout can not possibly be 90% seems lower. They have made it a very unpleasant experience to go there.
Honestly it is not worth starting your car to go there. Employees are rude. You get a look of I hate you from them when you enter. Slots must be worked over they do not hit or keep you playing at all especially video poker that's a no armed bandit in all the Diamond Jo's. Just a crummy experience every time I ever went there. And I quit going there altogether.

Good location from the twin cities. Right off of 35 first exit into Iowa. But that's it. Casino is small and dirty with full ashtrays and bottles and glasses all over. Usually like to play dice but craps dealer were very poor, game moved very slow while we waited for the dealers to figure out the pay offs..Found craps to frustrating waiting for them to figure things out and listening to them talk to each other. Seemed like the players were in the way of their conversations..Worst craps dealer I have ever seen in any casino. Drink service was good at the tables but wife said it was ok at slots. Beer bottles and drink glasses everywhere. But you probably should not drink here if you want to play anyway. Saw a guy kicked out for cheering to loud at a slot.. Was just a young excited kid did not seem that bad at all. But they sure made a big deal out of it...Anyway if you want a casino in Iowa with all the games I think you are definitely better off driving a little further..
