STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! They have no issues humiliating you. I'd give ZERO stars if I could. I had never been to a casino in my life up until this year. My husband has been slowly taking me to the casino's in Cripple Creek over the past few months to show me how much fun one can have there. August 14th was anything but fun. It had been my birthday on the 4th, we thought that a trip to a casino that I had not been to was a good way to celebrate the occasion. I turned 40 years old this year; but, I know I look much younger, mostly because I always get carded, no matter where I go. Anyway, my husband and I had about $100 to spend, not much but enough to play some slots and have a pretty good time. I wanted to be comfortable so I wore a black T-shirt and jeans. BIG MISTAKE.. apparently, they only want "high rollers" here. As I was walking around, I noticed that a security guard, a little older than me was following my husband (who has some tattoos from his rebellious youth). He's now a prominent business owner in Colorado Springs. Anyhow, I went over to his side, and this security guard decided that he would move his entire body within inches of mine and then proceed to put his face just a couple of feet in front of mine, in a very dramatic and creepy manner. It's the best way to describe it. When we moved to go to another side of the hotel, he stood in front of the machines that we were trying to get to and even when he saw that we were trying to get to those specific machines, he just stood there. Not because he couldn't see us or hear us, but because HE COULD. When I told him that his actions made me uncomfortable, he smiled, and said nothing. No explanation, no apology, NOTHING. I told him that I was going to leave because of this behavior. A colleague of his overheard and sarcastically stated, "well then you have a great day ma'am". To make matters worse, as I was cashing out my ticket, both were huddled with another employee (this one female), with what seemed like laughing and dirty looks in my direction. Wow. I've never felt so humiliated in my life by complete strangers whose sole purpose is to make my stay at the casino more pleasurable. I sat in my husband's car for an hour before I stopped crying. Eventually we went to Century Casino and Bronco Billie's, where thankfully everybody was super nice and Century even gave me an extra gift for being such a trooper about my experience with Double Eagle. Bronco Billie's comped me a meal. I was surprised because it wasn't even their mistake, the Double Eagle should have paid for that stuff. I didn't even get an apology from them. I'd also like to mention that we won nothing here.

We were invited by my Aunt and Uncle to come up to the Double Eagle in Cripple Creek. The room was reserved and paid for by my aunt. Upon check in we were unable to reach my aunt and they would not let us check in at first despite us having the name of the person who reserved the room, the room had been paid for and our names were given to them when reserved. They finally agreed to let us check in after 20 minutes of arguing as long as we gave them our credit card and said they wouldn't charge anything to it if my aunt came by before 9:00 pm which she did. We went up to our room which should have been a King-it was two doubles. We went back to the front desk and told them and they sent us to another room WHICH WAS ALSO A DOUBLE. we went back down to the front desk for a third time and finally got a room with a King. It took us over an hour to get checked into our room. We found an old tea bottle full of cigarette butts under our bed! We already were late to meet our family so we simply put it outside of our room in the hall. We should have taken pictures or reported it!! I noticed on Monday that they had charged my card $90 for the room even though it was already paid for. They also charged my card $160. When I called them they said that the person my aunt talked to didn't tell the person who charged my card. They said the $160 was the difference between the room charge and the $250 SMOKING FEE. We did not smoke in the room! They then charged ANOTHER $250 to my card the next day!! Eventually the $90 and $160 authorizations fell off but only after about a week. They refused to refund the smoking fee and said they had "proof" but refused to send me the proof. They had nothing that I had signed authorizing them to charge my card. They obviously didn't clean the room before us and the bottle full of cigarette butts was probably from the people before who HAD smoked in the room. I have disputed it with my credit card company but they said it can take up to 90 days. I spoke to Cara Bernon and Amy Witt, two shift managers before finally speaking to a manager named Steve who was incredibly rude and when I asked to speak to his manager I was informed that I "would NEVER speak to his manager". The Double Eagle has poor customer service, does not care about their customers and we will NEVER BE BACK.

I was visiting Colorado to see family when we decided to go to Cripple Creek. We went to the Double Eagle Casino since it was recommended by my Son's wife. My wife and I was at the bar and we were attended to by a waitress with a heavy foreign accent. We was served our drinks and my husband had money sitting on the bar. My husband simply asked the bartender if she was from the Ukraine since our son's wife was from the Ukraine. This barmaid responded indignantly with "I am Russian"! She then took my husbands money from the bar and went to the cash register on the other side to give back our change. When she came back with our change in her hand, Instead of placing my husbands change on the bar, she threw it in his face. We was simply trying to make conversation not trouble. We had no intention of insulting anyone. Needless to say we are done with this casino and strongly suggest if anyone goes to this casino, do not interact with the staff! You may get a face full of change or worse!

In my opinion, one of the two best casinos in Cripple Creek. Slots are fairly loose. Have stayed at the hotel and the room was extremely nice with beautiful mountain views. Their players club seems pretty generous and they have free coffee and soda machines in the casino. A relaxing place to spend some time if you can get some of your money back out of the machines. In fact, Cripple Creek is a fun place to go with melodramas at the Butte Opera House and a free museum which showcases the mining history of Cripple Creek.
