TYPES OF CASINOS IN COLORADO
Casinos in Colorado can be found in the mountain towns of Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek. There are also two Colorado casinos affiliated with Indian Tribes (which abide by Colorado’s limited gaming rules) in Ignacio and Towaoc.
When Colorado casinos were initially introduced in 1991 it was limited in that only electronic games (including slots, video poker, video blackjack and video keno) and the table games of poker, blackjack, let it ride and three-card poker were allowed. Plus, a single wager could not exceed $5.
All that changed, however, on July 2, 2009 when the maximum bet at all Colorado casinos was raised to $100, plus the games of craps and roulette were added to the mix. Additionally, the casinos in Colorado were allowed to stay open for 24 hours, rather than having to be closed between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m.
The payback percentages on electronic gaming machines at all casinos in Colorado are released as a matter of public record. Just click here to see a list of slot machine payback statistics for all Colorado casinos.
