Arizona Charlies Boulder Highway

Arizona Charlie’s Boulder offers 300 rooms and suites with an array of amenities, including an outdoor pool and hot tub, free parking and laundry facilities. The casino offers a bingo hall, more than 700 slots, and a race and sports book.

Their unique restaurants offers something to please everyone. They have a wide selection from steaks to fast and casual food. There is always something for everyone.

I'm an avid slot player and Arizona Charlies is a slot players' paradise. They are consistently updating the casino floor with the latest popular Las Vegas slots. Slots include the new Buffalo Golds, Buffalo Legends, Buffalo Grands, and Lightning Links themes and Dragon Link games.

There are more than 740 ticket-in, ticket-out slots, video poker and video machines, including traditional games like Double Double Bonus, Bonus Poker, and Deuces Wild.

The Sourdough Cafe at Arizona Charlie’s Boulder is home to Las Vegas' casual dining at its best. It’s the perfect setting to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner in between playing your favorite slot machine or bingo. The diverse menu is a definite people-pleaser. Enjoy family-style, oversized portions and other great selections, with some of the best deals in town. Breakfast specials features sirloin steak & eggs or ham-steak & eggs. Both been voted "Best Breakfast Special" by the Las Vegas Review Journal.

As of this writing, the Ham, Steak & Eggs are $5.99, the AYCE pancakes are $3.99, Burger & Fries are $4.99 as are the Street Tacos special and the Farmhouse Breakfast is $3.99.

Arizona Charlie's is just a 10 minute drive from downtown Las Vegas. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, I was.

My wife and I stayed there for a week, during my birthday and NASCAR weekend. Loved it, and will stay there again. It is a "locals" casino, but we always felt welcome. Not glitzy at all, but we were comfortable the entire time. I'm not a slot player, so I didn't play them. They do have a mix of old and new machines, so it should be easy to find something a slot player would like. My wife was able to have some fun on the machines. I am a blackjack player and AZ Charlies has some decent games, with low limits. Dealers are friendly and welcoming. Pit people really want you to have a players card, or else you get an odd look. So, just get a card, plus you get great deals on food as a perk, even without building up points. When we checked in, the desk clerk gave us a free upgrade to a Suite. We loved that, and the extra space. Did I mentioned we love this place? We were made to feel like we were special, and that is worth a lot. The rooms are basic, even with a suite. Nothing to really say about it. It does what you need to sleep and shower. Free coffee and a small fridge, limited basic cable. No frills, but feels like home, nice and cozy. Comfort food abounds, and at great value. Especially on Tues, you get 2 for 1 buffet. Which would mean breakfast for 2 is $7.99, or $3.49 per person. All you expect for the traditional offerings, biscuits gravy, chicken fried steak, bacon, ham sausage, eggs, omelet bar. Really tasty stuff. That, or you can do the 24 hr Cafe, which has revolving deals going. When we were there, you could get a Farmhouse Breakfast for $3.99, or Burger and Fries for $4.99. While also offering many of the traditional choices you would expect from a local cafe. They also have a philly cheesesteak shop downstairs which had a variety of hot cheesesteaks, which are delicious. The food is just plain great there. Just stay here.

This is a disgusting hotel worst experience. They don't clean the rooms at all, based on the huge blood stain we found on the bed. Unfortunately we had kids with us that day and they had to be exposed to this filthy, unsanitary room.

When the hotel personal was notified they just offer to switch our room and the room they had given us was a room that smelled like cigarette smoke. After seeing that room and returning to our room, that I had not seen because I was out getting some food, we decided to go back to the front desk. We had taken our food back to the car a soon as my cousin mention the situation he had found in the room and before checking any of the rooms out (unfortunately we would end up eating cold food).

We had to wait over 20 minutes because the lady was on break and no one was there to attend the front desk. Not only did she refuse to give us back our money but didn't seem to believe us about the filthy room. She must have heard the conversation I was having with my cousins wife, about speaking to the corporate office if the lady didn't help us. My cousin was the one speaking to her and she had offer to give us back half the money and put us in the room she had given us, since they don't offer refunds.

She was saying that the room is cleaned and that there couldn't be any blood stain on the bed. That's when I stepped in and said it was dirty that we weren't making this up. That's when she said she was going to refund our money but first she had to send security to check it out make sure we weren't lying.

Waited another 20 mins security came to the room took pictures and left. My cousin came back up 10 mins later and said we had to be out of the room before we get our money back. Security was nice enough to approach us and assumed we had been told to leave the room because of sanitary reason. But unfortunately this wasn't the case, the only reason was to get a refund. That refund was only given because the lady knew I would contact corporate about this unsanitary hotel.

I would give them a lower star if I could would never recommend this hotel to anyone even if it was the only one available. Which reminds me the lady also wished us luck finding another hotel because they were all booked and it was more of the way she said it like she was hoping we couldn't find another hotel. Not the kind of customer service anyone should experience.

We have dined at the Sourdough Café, Wild West buffet and Yukon Grill.

The Sourdough café’s ham or steak with eggs breakfast has been a long running “best breakfast special”. Hours are Monday - Friday, 6am - 12am, Saturday - Sunday, 24 Hours. I rated our one breakfast of bacon & eggs as 2 Forks on a scale 0-5 Forks.

The one and only time we dined at the buffet was during breakfast and it was comparable to Terrible’s and that is not a compliment. The breakfast buffet is now only offered Fri + Sat.

A better choice is the Yukon Grill where we have dined a ½ dozen times. Though our experiences have been generally good, the filet mignon on our last visit was not very good and I rated our meal 1 Fork out of a possible 5. The restaurant serves typical American fare and is currently only open Thur-Sun for dinner 5-10PM. Prices are reasonable and on Thur and Sundays a prix fixe meal is offered for $17.72.

Other dining options include a Sbarro’s and a deli which we have not visited.

Slot club (ACE) members receive 25% off the buffet and 10% off the other company owned dining outlets.

The 2012 ACG has a 2 for 1 coupon for the buffet.

We used to frequent this casino because of the availability of 9/6 JOB video poker, generous slot club benefits and advantageous casino promotions. I won a few drawings for small amounts and my wife hit once for a $1,000. We stopped visiting the casino after the video poker schedules and slot benefits were slashed. Per VPFee2 the best games are 25 cents, 9/6 JOB at located on 4 machines with $8 coin in good for 1 point.
