I visited the casino with my parents last night. We decided to have dinner. Parents lost and I was up. I decided to play blackjack while I waited for them to finish dinner. A waitress started using a vacuum around their table. My mother asked her if she could stop till they were done eating. She said the manager makes her do it by a deadline, but they could go ask him. My mother went to the desk and the manager was on the phone. She informed another woman what was going on and the woman escorted her to the table and stopped the cleaning. Should be the end of the story. The manager got off the phone, came over to the table and went on a tirade about abuse to his staff. The cleaning woman, the waitress, the people at the next table and the woman who escorted my mother back to her table informed the manager that he was nuts. He then went back to his phone and called the police. Three cops came into the restaurant. One of them physically grabbed my mother and dragged her out of the restaurant, through the casino and out the door. They passed me on the way out. My mother told the cop, "that is my son, I need to tell him what is going on." He said if she didnt shut up, she would be leaving in handcuffs. The cop then came over to my blackjack table and said, "finish your hand, you are done." He then escorted me out of the building. This all took place in 20 minutes. I think the manager is doing bath salts. Everyone else was very friendly. Don't let one psychopath stop you from going out and having a good time. Our waitress, by the way, was reduced to tears and was horrified at the spectacle. She was quite good and the food quality has improved dramatically since I ate there last a few years ago. We will not be returning until this issue is dealt with.
The Ho Chunk tribe has numerous casinos around the State but this one pays better than any of the rest of them based upon my experience. My wife and I visit here approx. 1-2 times a month, and always on their senior's day which is Thur. (You get $10 credit on your players club if you earn 5 points playing the slots). That is not to hard to do, so it's a little compensation for your losses.
Slots pay better here than any casino in Wisconsin that we have visited which is 8-9 different ones over the last 2-3 years, but maybe we are just lucky.
The table game dealers could use some personality training as most of the one's that have been there for a couple of years or more, are absolute grouch's with zero personality and attitude, and never smile or converse with the players.
On seniors day, they will have a luncheon special for around $5 which is as cheap as one can eat at McDonald's, and the food is certainly much better. It usually includes a main dish, potatoes and a veg. and sometimes a roll. Not a bad deal for $5
The casino is nothing to brag about regarding looks or condition as it is crowded, smokey, and just a plain old building. Also, they don't have a lot of the popular 1 cent machines so you will have to wait to get on one, especially on seniors day. However, if you can put up with that, it's a better deal than any of the other casinos in and around central Wisconsin.
Horrible. They are going one by one through and lifting payout percentage and changing the chips in the machines. Some machines they are reprogramming to take away the bonus features. Some machines you can put in $1550. At $6.25 literally no payback and absolutely no bonus. If you play $10 machines there is no separation from rest of casino. Previously there was a wall. I have had older individuals literally stand over me to monitor how much I put in. I have called security to make them move on. They literally hover. Guess how many thousand you put in and as soon as you walk away they are there like vultures to pick up where you left off. The tribe is horrible. They have ruined the Nekoosa school district to the point that most traditional families drive their kids to Rapids or pay for private school. HO Chunk has gotten so greedy to support Wis Dells and Wittenberg but nothing here. The only upgrade is half done carpeting in 5 years. They have announced a hotel several times and never did it. The payouts are so horrible the best they offer now is VIP parking for those who play to make up for further reducing the payouts. Free play is a joke. Instead of weekly free play like everyone else it’s now every 8 days. Instead of 52 weeks it’s now 50. Always finding ways to screw everyone over.
