On our most recent trip we stayed at South Point for 3 nights. This was our first stay there and it was very nice. I noticed in some other reviews, people praise South Point for being away from the strip. I think many people would consider that a drawback. In our case it makes no difference because we always have our car and we drive all around the valley, where we stay geographically is not an issue. But South Point is very far south on Las Vegas Blvd. If you want to go to Las Vegas and spend some time on the strip or downtown this may not be the place for you. If you want a place where you can stay and do everything right there, it's great. This is a relatively new property (2008) and they have everything. Movie theatre, bowling, bingo, you name it. It's big, spacious, and has loads of restaurants. I might add that they have a Steak N' Shake! For those who don't know Steak N' Shake is a burger and shake place common in Illinios, Missouri, and places east. They have great burgers, shakes, etc., their slogan is "In Sight It Must Be Right" so you can always sit at the counter and watch them prepare the foods...and they serve everything on china. In the old days they had car hops so if you wanted you could park outside and they brought the food to you. Several employees of South Point told us that their Steak N' Shake was the "...only one west of the Mississippi!". I didn't have the heart to tell them they're a bit off. Steak N' Shake started in Normal, Illionis but there are many in St. Louis (west of the Mississippi) and in my hometown of Springfield, MO we have several (about 200 miles WEST of the Mississippi). There is also one in Joplin, MO (300 miles west of the Mississippi). For those who have never been to Steak N' Shake, please try it when at South Point. The South Point room was very large and nice, very clean, and they have all the facilities one could ever need. I would recommend South Point any time.

Great location away from the main strip. Lots of close parking. Seasons buffet is very good, especially breakfast, and you can frequently find two for one coupons. Slots are fairly loose and I like the environment in the casino. Good variety of machines and attendants are usually close by with free drinks. Have not stayed there, so cannot comment on hotel.

I Visited SOUTH POINT ON MY TRIPS TO LAS VEGAS IN APRIL & SEPTEMBER. MY SON-IN-LAW HAS AN AUNT & UNCLE
THAT LIVE IN HENDERSON,NV AND WHEN WE COME OUT SHE ALWAYS SPENDS A DAY TAKING ME AROUND TO
DIFFERENT LOCAL CASINOS. I really like SOUTH POINT. WE HAVE EATEN AT THEIR STEAK HOUSE WHICH IS GOOD
AND THE BUFFET IS VERY GOOD AND QUITE REASONABLE, IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE LOCAL CASINOS THERE.

This is by far our favorite casino in Las Vegas. We are lucky in that we get to come each year for a Convention based at South Point. The rooms are great as is the service. We eat several times at the buffet and find it to be a great deal for the money. They have a great variety and it's very reasonably priced. I've gotten spoiled being off the Strip and away from traffic. The only drawback is you need a car. However, I always have a rental car so it is no problem. And my wife who loves western wear finds it very convenient to have one of Las Vegas' finest western wear stores just up the street, The Boot Barn. In addition, there's an outlet mall in the same area. The slots pay well and I've always left ahead.

South Point Casino is still a great place to play and eat. We love the lunch special in the Mexican restaurant on the second floor and the late night special in the cafe.
