This is our “home” casino where we have stayed numerous times since it first opened as the South Coast. I believe, with 2,163 rooms, it is the largest of the “locals” casinos. Its location, south on the Las Vegas Blvd and adjoining I-15, makes it convenient for those of us who either rent a car or drive in from California. There is free shuttle service to and from McCarran Airport that runs 6AM-9:30PM. A shuttle to the Strip is offered for $8 per day for one roundtrip.

Very nice rooms, Great buffet with prime rib, 1/2 off with coupon from booklet you get at check-in, Prime Rib restaraunt is best that i've had. Good poker room, great service from friendly staff. About 4 miles south of Mandalay Bay, near the Silverton.

Very nice rooms and you can get them discounted with online promotions. This is a good location for jumping off to other spots in Nevada or Death Valley. You don't need to get into the heart of the traffic and strip if you stay here. The buffet was discounted with the player's book and it was great! Quite a variety and everything looked fresh and carefully displayed; good job. There was a lot to do in this place; it had a bowling alley and I remember a movie theater, too. The slots just quickly swallowed up my money and I didn't see anyone jumping for joy so I would just stay here and go to where locals go to gamble. I had quite a reaction to the smoke in this place, however, and it took me a while to get over that.

During my last trip to Las Vegas, my wife and I visited this casino twice to eat at their restaurants and we have never been disappointed. Their Italian restaurant and Prime Rib place have consistently good food and service and the price is very reasonable. I also like the over atmosphere of the place as it is well lit with high ceilings so there is no smoke odor in the place. Also, there is lot's of room between row's of machines so one has lot's of room and you don't get hit in the back by someone walking past you. They seem to always have room at a $5 blackjack table so one can join in a game without sitting by for an hour waiting for someone to leave. It is a little off the beaten path on the South end of Vegas but that's not a problem for us as we always have a car while in town, and the new M resort is not far from the South Point if you want a change of scene. The rooms are quite large and really appointed nicely. This is my choice for a good place to stay in Vegas, especially if you like to eat.
