I used a two-night hotel comp here in June. Hotel-wise, nothing bad, nothing great--clean room, the usual amenities, good Internet connection. It was what I wanted, a clean, free place to stay, near the MGM megaplaces and the Trop without paying their prices. Friendly hotel personnel.
Food--Good roast beast and sides at the Mad Onion, good late-night wings and cold beer at the Hooters (plus the usual eye candy). You know what to expect.
Gaming--They were remodeling part of the casino while I was there, so getting around was interesting, but otherwise, about as expected. Friendly personnel, not the usual "I work as a corporate drone" types. The craps dealers knew their stuff, which is not always the case, even in Vegas. They didn't play the usual slowdown, mess-with-the-shooter games when someone was hot.
Overall--This isn't the MGM or similar places. No one comes here to be seen or to show off. I wouldn't necessarily spend a week here, but for a couple of days, quite pleasant.
Good video poker full pay at .25 level, they used to have it at nickel level. The CW service has always been very good and good to look at obviously ha, ha. Seriously the CW service was efficient
and very friendly. Rooms were decent not great but the price is good also. I plan on spending some time there in December.
