No longer the Horseshoe, Binions has been going down hill for many years now and the freefall continues. the hotel has been closed for years, the casino has some average table games, poor selection of video poker, and a poker room that never seems very busy. They do have some some very good tourneys with low buy ins good strctures and variety of games, they always did this well.

one of the classic casinos. a lot of vibe on the floor. had a great prime rib dinner at their restaurant for a great price. good location in the middle of everything downtown. the bus stop to the airport and other places is right outside the casino. don't pass it up if you are downtown.

No longer owned by the Binion family, and no longer has the Horseshoe name, Binion's has fallen on hard times. The original home of the WSOP, the wall outside of the poker room has a display of photos of some of the winners of early WSOP. Another
attraction is the $1,000,000 display. (Is that all real money in there? lol). Lots of older slot machines that you don't see at the newer casinos anymore. good action at the table games, good deli and snack bar.

I happen to be paralyzed and in a wheelchair, but fly out several times a year I fly out to Vegas and always enjoy checking out the various casinos -- especially the Downtown properties.

Even though all of the rooms at Binion's were shut down a couple of years ago and do not appear to be re-opening anytime soon, my friends and I spend a fair amount of time here each year. The nice part about their casino floor for a wheelchair user is that is not 100 percent carpeting (more difficult to push my wheelchair), but it has a couple of long hardwood floor paths that take you through the table games and down to the Sportsbook, cashier, restrooms, etc.

We are not high-stakes gamblers, but we receive regular offers from Binion's which include comp rooms nights, free slot play and meal discounts. The offers include rooms at the Four Queens which is our favorite hotel so it works out well for us.

But Binion's still has several things in its favor. We like the variety of table games. Even though the odds are not supposed to be as favorable to the player (according to computer probabilities), we enjoy a couple of the newer variations of 21 -- Blackjack Switch and Burn 20 Blackjack. Both involve a bit of different strategy and decision making from the basic 21 table game.

Another nice feature of Binion's is the rooftop swimming pool which is open during the warmer weather months. You can access the pool area with your Four Queens room key and enjoy a terrific view and some comfortable outdoor lounge furniture.

I also am a fan of Binion's Steakhouse which serves fine food with excellent service at a much more reasonable cost than one would pay in a Strip resort property.

And the Binion's Coffee Shop and Sportsbook lounge serve decent burgers -- althouh I have not yet had to try their advertised "Hangover Burger" special.

I should note that we are not slot players and only play video poker when we take a break from the 21 tables, so I never award any "5" rating for slot machines in my reviews. But when I have remembered to use the free slot play on my Binion's offers, I usually end up winning a few extra, unexpected dollars to help pay for my other vices.

The Binion's Sportsbook is also fine with some really nice customer service, but I don't like their board at much when there are a lot of college football or college basketball games scheduled and they seem to take a little long to cash tickets mailed in.

I always make a stop in here when I am Downtown in Vegas... Like a lot of the other posts, history does only count for so much.

This place was really crowded. It was a Wednesday night around 9pm when I was here last in October. The place really seems to fill up just after the Fremont Street Experience show. My advice, grab a machine during the show to save some time walking around.

They have a "free-pull" machine out front that never pays off, but they give you a voucher to have you picture with $1,000,000. It's under glass, but cool to see.

The machines seem to payout more frequently here than on the strip and other places Downtown.

I think if the hotel does undergo some renovations, and they do the same with the casino floor, this place would be a lot better.

If you don't like crowds, smoke and feeling as though you can't breathe, don't go in the evening... Mid-day would be better...
