Excellent place overall! 4 deck blackjack shoes where the dealer doesn't hit soft 17, and the player can re-split aces! 9/6 jacks or better, generous food comps, and the room was very nice.
They also have a 3:2 payout single deck game!
This place was a pleasant surprise in this day and age of casinos offering horrible rip off games to the public.
I stayed at this hotel/casino about a month ago. I had been here a couple of times pre-Katrina and liked it but this time was the best of all.
The place was crowded but not offensively so. The food in all the restaurants was terrific and the prices were very reasonable.
I had an upper-level room that overlooked a peaceful body of water. I played cards in the poker room and found the players friendly and not out for blood. I also played in a couple of tournaments where the entry fee was $45.00 which was not bad at all for the amount of time I played.
I got to the final table both times and made back my entry fees. All-in-all, I highly recommend this gem of a hotel/casino.
