I have been playing at Gun Lake Casino since they opened last year! Let's just say I won't be going there anymore! Not bc I lost and I'm a whiney loser but bc I don't feel like I'm getting fair play. I play blackjack and slots if I win. They have a crazy rule that u can't split aces more than once which happened to lose me about $100 on one hand. But that is not why I'm writing this review. I am writing this review bc I have put several thousand dollars thru their slot machines and I have decided that they r the tightest machines I have ever played...u almost have to force them to pay by dumping hundreds into them...which doesn't always work out so well. Their free play for slots sucks. I played a similar amount at 4 winds in new buffalo, mi and received at least $300 to $400 in free slot play plus a couple free nights at the hotel. At Gun Lake Casino I received about $100 total in free slot play and a voucher for $40 for food which was only good for one day. Bottom line, avoid this casino if at all possible. Give ur money to someone in need instead! They didn't make over $100 million the first year in business by paying people that walk thru the door. So remember that before u take too much cash in that place. Not to mention its small, dealers suck (but have improved since opening), it's smoky as hell (and I'm a smoker), and busy as hell on weekends. Oh they also raise their table games minimum bet to $15 for bj on Friday and sat. Night...and that's only 2 tables..the rest are $25 minimum and up...just go somewhere else that is at least being watched by a gaming commission! Learn from me please and don't make the same mistake!
Their machines are too tight! Drink all the free pop and Coffee you can, because that's all they will give you. If you do decide to go, "PROCEED WITH CAUTION" PLEASE!
... We live only 10 miles from the Gun Lake Casino, so we have been there several times! I have TWO WORDS for this Casino "IT SUCKS!"... We too would rather drive farther for a better time.
Each time we have been 'hosed'... they could care less if you have a bad gaming experience. YOU WILL NOT even get a little 'play money' back! We have tried almost every Casino in Michigan and have to say the place smells bad... because the ventilation system is horrid. The moment you walk in the lobby door, the odor is noticeable. You may as well save your money for a Casino 'watched' by a gaming commission.
I do have ONE nice thing to say about this Casino... The Coffee is VERY GOOD! Grab one on your way out the door and call it your 'hundreds of dollars' cup of java! That is ALL this Casino will give YOU!
IT WOULD BE MORE FUN TO USE A LIGHTER AND BURN YOUR MONEY.YOU WILL NEVER WIN.BUT SOME GAMBLERS DONT KEEP TRACK OF ALL THE MONEY THEY PUT IN.IF YOU PUT IN $1800 AND WIN $1200 YOUR NOT A WINNER YOUR -$600.NO ONE WINS HERE THEY PAID OFF THIS NEW BUILDING IN LESS THAN 1-YEAR. DONT GO AVOID THIS CASINO.
Gun Lake Loosen your slots!!! Food is usually great and I am a picky eater. So glad you can smoke....a real plus! They have non-smoking areas for all the non smokers so I don't know why they are all whinning AGAIN? They have the whole state of Michigan non smoking...give me a break....babies.......
