This place has gotten a lot better since the Mohegans have started managing the place. Where there was no excitement level here before, since the opening of Margaritaville this place is jumping. When we were there this week, I was surprised. I hadn't seen that many people in Resorts in over a decade. Now if they would just get new uniforms for the dealers.

It is still the same employees, so there are still some that should have been let go ages ago since they have no customer skills whatsoever. But it seems that many of the employees are now actually having fun on their job. The Landshark pub across the boardwalk overlooking the beach is nice, but a little expensive. And I haven't tried it yet, but your Mohegan Sun comps from either PA or CT are supposed to be good here.

The casino's new theme is the Roaring 20's thanks to the show Boardwalk Empire. Unfortunately, too many of the employees were alive during the 20s. This casino skews old.

The table games need to lower their limits and then open up more games. There are never enough employees at the player's club. The atmosphere is slightly more lively than the Atlantic County Morgue. The customer service at the buffet and the front desk needs serious work. And the buffet needs to work on quality and getting its act together.

We usually pop in when we walk by since my dad seems to regularly get free play here, which I've never gotten because I'm not old enough for their target demographic. If you stop in, you won't be spending too much time here.

We've been going to resorts a long time now. Things have definitely changed, some good, some not so good. First, let me tell you about the bus trips. The new owner tried to lure people in by offering a $5 bus from December to May from Long Island to Resorts. It was great. No gas, no tolls and if you wanted to spend the night, it was $10 and you got back $5. We would wake up on Saturday morning and make a last minute decision to go for the day. That was all taken away and replaced with $40 bus and $50 overnight. Not only that but if you showed your $5 ticket to Tropicana, they would give you $35 for play at the casino too. That was also taken away the same time as the $5 bus. The buses were always crowded, and we had a great time on them with no worries. All gone now!!
Next, we stayed and they tried to put us in the new rooms in the Ocean Tower. The place is still a dump. The other tower is better, but the mattresses feel like you are sleeping on the street, old and hard. Now the gaming also has changed. You comp dollars have decreased and the machines are much, much tighter. I have a friend who has elite status and has great difficulty getting a free room and dollar comps from them. My daughter and her friend ate at Breadsticks and had two caesar salads and two soups and it was $40. Don't these casinos know that people are having a hard time with this economy? If they want people to drop money in their machines, then make it worth the while to come to the casino. Offer more comps for overnight stays and food. I know for one that this is my only entertainment. I love the slots, but I and my friends who love it don't want to spend a fortune on stays and food. The new owner has to realize that the business has slowed down since he got tighter on the bus comps and all other comps in the resort. Things have got to change!!!!

I always liked the Resorts property.

Through the years, however, it was getting to look a little tired, but they did a major upgrade this past year and it looks very nice now.

I stayed in the hotel many years ago and I hated it. The room was about as glamorous as a Holiday Inn and I woke up at about 3 a.m. due to the garbage men making a pick-up in the alley below my window.

I see they now have a new hotel tower and if the rooms look as nice as the casino it must be a nice place.

For quarter video poker players the casino has a lot of 8/5 Bonus poker games available.
