Florida is one of the most popular and easily one of the most visited states in the US. There are a number of great things to do and interesting places to visit in Florida, and we’re not just talking about the warm and sunny beaches.

  • Natural attractions to visit in Florida

The state of Florida is the perfect place for the lovers of nature and wildlife because of the many natural wonders there.

You could pay a visit to the lush Bok Tower Gardens and enjoy the amazing views while watching over 126 species of birds fly, hop, skip, and play around; the Busch Gardens in Tampa houses over 12,000 animals from 300 different species; the Butterfly World in Coconut Creek houses over 5,000 live butterflies, flying freely in the enormous greenhouse, and they all await your curious eye.

You could also go swimming with the dolphins at Discovery Cove in Orlando or take a tour around The Everglades Alligator Farm located just outside Miami.

And, of course, a trip to south Florida would not be complete without a visit to Everglades National Park!

  • List of casinos in Florida

As the third-largest Indian gaming state in the U.S., Florida has a variety of gaming activities to offer you. The state has 17 casinos, seven of which are native American casinos. Actually, there are basically two types of casinos in Florida: Native American casinos and pari-mutuel casinos.

All of the pari-mutuel casinos are located in the south end of the state in either Miami-Dade County, or in Broward County (home of Fort Lauderdale). Only electronic gaming machines are allowed at the pari-mutuel casinos. They are not allowed to have live table games, but they can have electronic versions of table games, such as blackjack, craps roulette and baccarat

The list of pari-mutuel casinos in south Florida are: Big Easy Casino, Calder Casino, Casino at Dania Beach, Casino Miami, Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino, Hialeah Park Casino, Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park, and Magic City Casino.

There is one Indian casino that only offers electronic machines: Miccosukee Resort and Gaming, while some of the Seminole casinos offer live blackjack, baccarat and other novelty table games, such as let it ride, three card poker and Mississippi stud. The list of Seminole casinos includes: Seminole Casino Brighton, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, Seminole Casino Immokalee, and Seminole Classic Casino. The two largest properties are the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino – Hollywood, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino – Tampa.

There are also two casino boats in Florida that offer casino gambling while cruising offshore: Tropical Breeze Casino, and Victory Casino Cruises – Cape Canaveral.

  • General information about Florida casinos

All Native American casinos in Florida are open 24 hours a day while the pari-mutuel casinos are open 18 hours a day except on weekends and certain holidays, when they are allowed to be open 24 hours a day.

The minimum gambling age for pari-mutuel betting and poker is 18 while you must be 21 to play electronic gaming machines. The minimum drinking age is also 21 years. However, you should note that none of the casinos in Florida will give you free alcoholic beverages.
