Flew into Philly for the weekend to check out their casinos. Of the three in the area (Parx, Sugar House, Harrah's), I liked this one the best. It has a decent sized poker room on the 2nd level, which was enjoyable to play in. On the upper level, there are tons of slot machines (which I rarely play), table games, restaurants, and the buffet. One nice comp they had was if you played anything (except poker) for 30 minutes, you got a free buffet once per day. I am generally not a fan of buffets, but this one wasn't bad -- especially considering it was "free". I found a nickel "Jacks or Better" video poker machine (which had a horrible pay table of 6/5), but I played a nickel at a time for 30 minutes. At the end of the session, I was down 50 cents. So, that is what the buffet cost me. As for beverage service, you could order beverages right there on the slot machine electronically. If all you wanted was a soda, there were a few soda machines placed along the walls, which you could access for free. I had a great time here, and will gladly return. It was certainly better than driving all the way out to Atlantic City and back when you're only in town for an overnight trip.

This is the only positive rating for Harrah's Chester, in a sea of really terrible, but totally accurate bad reviews. And the guy that wrote this one was happy only because he played 1 nickel at a time for 30 minutes just to get the god awful buffet.
In truth, everyone on here is absolutely 100% correct. This place is terrible. From the degenerate locals that live there begging for cigarettes, to the degenerate security staff that half looks like they'll be waiting for you in the parking lot when you leave. The payouts are non existent, though they swear they pay a jackpot out each day. Which may be true, one jackpot payout per 10,000 visitors dumping their hard earned money. An attendant admitted to me last trip that this hole has about an 80/20 set up favoring the house. Those are the kind of odds that should send everyone running out the doors. Since it opened all of the higher class players have disappeared, not only because you have to swim in a sea of riff raff there, but largely because you are all but guaranteed to loose. But this place couldn't care less. They are content to steal the welfare money off the locals and grab the wallet of whatever suckers happens to wander in to check it out. So don't look for things to change anytime soon. Consider that every internet site that pops up about this dive says the same thing, run away! But no one at Harrah's gives a hoot about social media. Keep your bums and your slop food. I'll keep driving to AC.
