The Taj is not what it was when the Donald was still around, but compared to what's around it, it's still good. The blackjack and other table games are pretty much the same all over town, unfortunately. But they do have some full pay video poker at the dollar level, and they do comp rooms. The poker room is far what it used to be, they used to get t.v. coverage. But still maybe the second or third most popular room in town, especially for some low limit games. But I don't think changing the 3-6 game to 2-4-6 helped them any.

Apparently they don't care for smokers here. I don't smoke but my wife does and the areas for smokers is small, has old machines, drinks are hard to get and the area is just plain dirty. The slot club area had only one employee even though there were about thirty people in line. The only reason we went there is they sent my wife a card with a $75 slot play offer. She tried four different machines and none would give her the funds. An attendant I went and found to help her wasn't much help. She, the attendant, tried twice and then the machine said my wife's pin had to be reset at the players club and she just walked away.

Ever since this building opened nearly 20 years ago, I've thought this is the gaudiest building in North America. Luckily they don't do up the Indian theme as much as they did when it first opened.

I like the buffet here. But the problem is that you never know when it's open until you get there. We've seen it closed on weekends and even during the summer.

The slots are okay, but there is no full pay video poker to be found. The table games are okay but the dealers could be more friendly (which applies to many Atlantic City casinos). There is a food court upstairs but it is far and hard to get to. And the security leaves a lot to be desired. One of the reasons we stop here is because I have a fondness for Hard Rock Cafe pulled pork and there's a Hard Rock here. Otherwise, it's not one of my top casinos to visit.

For a professional and family casino experience, The Taj Mahal is the jewel of the Atlantic City boardwalk. From the desk employees to the casino floor staff, I have absolutely no complaints. What separates the Taj from the other AC boardwalk casinos are their vast array of slots, their winning contagious spirit of the table games, their world famous poker room and their entertainment venues for all ages. As you can see, I truly enjoy the overall hospitable environment of the Taj.

They seem to be making some major upgrades to this property. It changed a lot since my visit last year and it looks much richer and more contemporary. I guess they are getting away from the Indian theme?

My wife and I stayed in the new Chairman's Tower on 9/10/08. The room was very nice and the only problem was that the check-in area was quite a walk from the new hotel.

Only part of the new hotel was open and they were still working on other areas. Surprisingly, there was no noise from the construction workers.

I also must say that the beds were very comfortable.

We used the 2-for-1 buffet coupon from the American Casino Guide for the dinner buffet.?

The food was very good and the soups were especially excellent.

The desserts were also very good, a nice selection and all very tasty!
