My wife and I enjoyed our recent stay at The Strat. It went way beyond our expectations. We are looking forward to a return visit.

Not a good location at the far north end of the Strip, even if it is the only Strip resort actually in the city of Las Vegas. There is a Strip bus stop right in front and a monorail stop down the street at Sahara Ave. They removed their 100% video poker a few years ago, but they still have some scattered full pay 8/5 bonus. The poker room has moved a few times over the years to where it is now with only a couple games going, usually 1/2 and 2/4. Not much for comps here.

They had full pay bonus poker at the .25 level the last time I was there. Gave them 5 stars in food and drink because of the variety of choices you can go blue plate or a la carte. The neighborhood is shakey but if the Red Dragon Casino becomes a reality it should improve. Another advantage is taking the 108 from the airport it will leave you across the street from the Stratosphere.

I have stayed at the Stratosphere before and would not hesitate to stay there again -- even though it is a bit isolated from other properties. Not a big issue however, as one can take the "Deuce" bus up and down the strip, as well as to Fremont Street.

The Strat has one of my favorite Sportsbooks, as well as decent food. I am not a big slot player, but I have won money on both visits.

Also got a kick out of the topless rock 'n roll vampire show "Bite." The girls and acrobatics were hot and the whole thing so ridiculous it was actually entertaining in a funny way.

I have also found the overall level of service throughout the Strat a bit better than many of the fancier and more famous properties. Everyone smiles and seem eager to help make your stay more enjoyable.

Another advantage of staying there is riding up to the top and enjoying the 360 view of Vegas.

Also has a lot of nice offers and promotions making for an affordable stay.
