Stayed for 2 nights in November. I arrived very late, plane delay and a late flight anyway. One advantage gave them a call and got their shuttle bus, it was about midnite when I arrived. they did not have my reservation?!! But the desk clerk was helpful and polite.
Theirs are usually a bargain for the price. They are a nice large room. I have been going to Terribles for the last 7 years. There have been some negatives recently since they changed hands, but some positives too. The casino is cleaner and maybe less smokey. If you like penny slots it seems to have great variety. Their unsavory characters have toned down some also. They have a nice breakfast special with your card called the deuces wild it is 2.95 and served 24 hours. 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, bacon or sausage.
Don't try Terribles' buffet. It's terrible. Casino is crowded and smokey, though I suppose locals find something to like here. Slots payoff is better than some. They offer some very good room rates on their specials, but I'm afraid to try them.
The name says it all. I am always surprised to see good reviews on Terrible's. I know it's a locals hang-out and I suppose many out-of-towners like that atmosphere and I sometimes also like it. But when we tried Terrible's, I wasn't impressed with all the noise, smoke, and the worst Las Vegas buffet I had ever tried. That was enough.
I have never stayed in the rooms and probably will never find out if they're any good.
We stayed at Terribles in March, 2011. The good: cheap room rates, generous comps, nice pool area, low table limits, nice affordable restaurant. The bad: hard to get a cab (had to a walk 2 blocks to Hard Rock to get a cab). Overview: if you go to Vegas once every 10 years or if you want to be pampered, do not go to Terribles. If you are a Vegas veteran, like to gamble, and want a nice affordable room, Terribles is the place for you. Expect a standard "Red Roof Inn" type room; this is no Aria folks, but you can't argue with the room rates! The staff will not kiss your --- like they would at the Bellagio, but they are all nice and accommodiating. Until I win the million dollar jackpot, i will return to Terribles.
Terrible's reminds me of Las Vegas in 1990. You walk in, join the players club, and get a free hat or t-shirt. Along with that, you get a coupon book. Play for a while, turn in your coupons, swipe your card, and walk out with a bottle of wine, a 24 oz. can of beer, a deck of cards, etc. For lunch, you used your coupon to have a half-price buffet (not the greatest buffet). It is a fun place to visit and they rule when it comes to the "free stuff" as long as you don't mind waiting in line over and over again at the players club! It is a small, smoky casino but it's definitely a must for the "off the strip" Vegas experience.
