This casino is nothing really to look at from the outside. We only stopped here because we were meeting friends here who suggested the Bumbleberry Flats restaurant. We were surprised at how good the food was and how inexpensive it was. I had a blast playing $3 blackjack and at 3-2 as well. We got $5 in free play when we joined the player's club. We had a blast here and I would definitely return if I get to Laughlin again.

(brazen shameless)stayed there march 26 2015 with my buddies. treated like dirt on crap table, chastised at crap table for shooting too slow, two people at the table. stick-man said i (tolerated) you two enough, became (enraged) called pit boss to the table and had us barred from the table. never been kicked off a crap table, went next door to the golden nugget, treated like gold, shot the dice the same way no problem. told the pit boss what happened at the pioneer club, he said that's why no one play's there. what a joke!

If you are going here you are going to need plenty of money as the machines are set so tight that you can easily lose you shirt and everything else. Video poker machines seldom hit 4 of a kind or anything that pays anything. We put in $700.00 an did not hit one 4 of a kind. Never hear anyone hitting royals at all. The owners are getting rich, so if you are planning to gamble look elsewhere.

An independent hotel/casino that seems to exist in another era...you have to phone them to make reservations, and can't do this via their website. A large percentage of locals who seem to have been at the bar (mostly) or at the slots for decades. But when was the last time that you could find slots that still paid out in tokens rather than TITOs (though most are ticket in, ticket out). A low rise hotel...actually more of a 2 story motel. You can safely drive up at almost any time and get a room without a reservation. If you want to understand what Laughlin, or even vegas, looked like 20 years ago, go to the Pioneer, which hasn't changed a bit. Just don't expect fancy martinis at the bar, or small-craft beers and you will be fine

The Pioneer is a smallish casino that is loved by the locals. A nice selection of video poker and a very fair comp program brings in the locals.

The deli serves a fabulous giant hotdog and a equally yummy ice cream sundea. The buffet is small but serves a very good breakfast .

There are walking paths on the rear of the property that offer one a good look at the Colorado River. The casino is well within walking distance to the Colorado Bell and The Golden Nugget.
