There is still some good gambling on Boulder Highway. With Sam's Town, Arizona Charlie's and the Cannery. There is also Boulder Station, with very good video poker pay tables and a busy poker room, They no longer allow smoking, but it was still plenty busy mid week. And all the Stations casinos have a good size inexpensive buffet, but we were there to play.

Boulder station is more about the casino than the hotel. Plenty of full pay and 100% video poker and plenty of the rest also. Good size casino that should have whatever game you play. The poker room always seems to have a few games going when I am there, and is one of the last smoking poker rooms anywhere. This place just reminds me of old vegas, in a good way.

So we had a coupon for the buffet and decided to head out for the breakfast buffet. The line for the buffet on a weekday was comparable to the line for Sunday Brunch at Paris. However most of the line was large families with infant and toddler children. We waited over an hour in line for breakfast, however we were in line so long that we had to have lunch. The lunch was completely underwhelming.

The casino is laid out strangely, so I never really seemed to know where I was in comparison of other things. The table game area had no excitement whatsoever.

I like Palace Station so I wanted to like Boulder Station too. But I didn't.

Pasta Cucina (formerly Pasta Palace) is similar to its namesakes at several Station properties. This restaurant offers a limited menu, is inexpensive and of mediocre quality. There are monthly specials available. In January spaghetti and meatballs will run you a mere $6.99. The 2013 LVA MRB includes a coupon good for $4 off an entrée for parties up to 4.
