More disappointing every time we stay. Air conditioning is apparently not working in the casino, very warm and muggy in here tonight. More machines missing; didn't see Flintstones or Oz, and the entire bank of Empire, etc is gone. Machines are running tight and not paying well; noticeable lack of hooting, hollering, and excitement in the crowd tonight. No surprise here, the ticket redemption and ATM are down yet again; only one of the three are online and operational, and the lines are long. Ashtrays are non-existent, both in the casino and hotel; yet again we checked into a smoking room without any. I am assuming my room and beds are in good order only because I can't see them; only one light works, as the others have no bulbs. Making plans around the advertised monthly promotions and events is pointless: We came over for the Night Owl session, and none of us ever got the bonus game. When we asked the players club about it, the only answer received by my group and numerous other customers was "I don't know, ask the morning supervisor at 8 a.m." Our final outcome was being screwed out of $60-$300 in free play due to "a technical problem", along with everyone else in the casino. Seems "big changes and improvements" went by the wayside at Thief River. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra hour to Mahnomen and save the aggravation until they get it together. Side note for those with kids: The Water Park is currently undergoing renovations and is "supposed" to reopen August 12, 2017; I say that only because the restaurant renovation was almost 2 months behind schedule. I would call ahead before you book to check the status.
