My wife and I just got back from a getaway to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Our first night we decided to drive to Kewadin and have their Seafood Buffet. Big Mistake! Seafood was all luke warm, chicken was pink, and the selection was not very big. For $19.99 I expected a much better buffet. If you're going to eat there, try the deli instead!

As far as the gaming, that wasn't so great either. The table games are good, with $2 minimum on craps even on a Friday night. The slot selection was okay, but no good video poker in that place. I did not see 9/6 anywhere, as a previous review had mentioned. I saw 9/6 with multi hand, but no 9/6 on JoB, DDB, or any other "normal" variation.

The player club gave me $10 for joining and $10 for my birthday, so that was a nice bonus. Other than that, it seems like the comp. rate is slow.

There are much better options in Northern Michigan. Stay away from this place, or only go there for table games!

Your review is about correct - the buffet has really went downhill this summer and fall. The deli isn't much better but is cheaper at least. Too bad they don't have a better selection of finer foods.....

The 9/6 JoB poker is scattered along with 8/5 and 9/5 JoB. They have 9/6 JoB in the back lounge $1.00 machines - 5 of them in that area. They also have some quarter 9/6 JoB by the Keno area. But you really have to track them down because they do have a mix of machines but the 9/6 JoB is just standard 1 hand 5 coin machines.....

It is an average casino - for overall value it isn't bad. The table comps are very slow but slot points and comps are quite good. 1 point for every $4.00 bet even on video poker (1 point for every $2 on double point days) - much better than Odawa or Turtle Creek. And 1000 points can be turned in for $10.00 cash instead of 1000 points for $5.00 cash like at Odawa (their video poker is 1 point per $4.00 bet).

Even though table games don't comp much they do have some of the best rules of any N. Michigan casino.

So if you like to gamble and have a better chance of winning Kewadin isn't a bad spot. If you like fine dining and luxury hotel rooms there are many other better choices. :)
