Fortunately, I've had good to great experiences when I've visited Gun Lake....win or lose. When my Aunt is visiting town from Boston, we always enjoy going down to Gun Lake. She has had winning sessions over $600, and losing sessions as much as $400. Overall slot takes are regulated and low, but it's easy to forget that casino wagering is a high variance proposition. I expect to lose, and pay for my entertainment -- when I win, it's a bonus that gets pocketed. Their free play offerings in December 2017 and January 2018 were generous, based on the arithmetic I did on our level of play, and expected loss over that time. In addition, they threw in a couple nice credits for either the buffet or cafe, both of which I've found to have very good food. Service is a little leisurely in the cafe; however, for all I know, that may be planned. People who know more about analytics than I do probably know the optimal amount of time to have guests enjoy a meal in the cafe, to encourage them to go back to more gaming when done. Yes, it's smoky in there -- it's a casino. There is a smoke free room, though you do have to walk through the casino to get at it. I enjoy Gun Lake, and will take my Aunt again soon when she visits. Like banks, they are a business, and they operate to make a profit, based on formulas, and expected values over the long term. I have no problem with that, as I'm realistic about the propostion. Happy gaming all!
