I've been gambling for leisure for about 20 years. I'm a writer and military gal lucky enough to have lived in and visited a fair number of countries. Therefore I've experienced, win or lose, just about every type of casino there is.
Let me say without question, this corrupt, government-run cash cow should be shut down for blatant highway robbery.
I will echo what others have written, such as the exorbitantly high minimums, alarming number of dealer "misdeals" and all around crooked blackjack, hold em and baccarat tables ... but most offensively are probably the slots, which are far from loose even on the higher end.
I went over the course of a week and lost easily 2000 bucks ... which is insane given my skill at poker (against house and other players) and blackjack. bet low and you'll win. up the bet a bit and lose your shirt. quickly. yes even on penny slots. never saw one person hit a slot jackpot. ever.
people shouldn't have to spend 12 hours in there trying to break even and sadly, many people told me they had.
what a sorry excuse for a casino: mediocre, overpriced food, little to no reward incentives, and drinks that cost an arm and a leg without even being top shelf.
next time you consider Maryland Live! do yourself a favor, take your money and just light it on fire. it's faster. cannot wait for mgm national harbor to open.

Any review that starts off touting their personal experience to let the world know why we should consider your opinion on a place more valid than any other, is exaggerated. Just review the place and be done. No one cares where you been or what you did, its the internet, everyone has done everything everywhere or so they claim. Your claims of all you heard about this place are false. I hit jackpots on slots here my 1st day ever playing and with in the 1st hour too. My only complaint was it takes the slot attendants too long to come back and pay us. But in fairness they were busy trying to collect info and pay 3 other winners at the same time. SO that completely blows your statements about no one ever winning completely away. Further right after I won the 2nd one, an Asian lady hit one a few machines down and she barely had understood they needed her ID which she had to call for. They were nice enough to allow her to have someone bring it down and held it for her. Vegas would have told her she was SOL.
Your review claims you are an experienced gambler but your reported losses say you are far from experienced. You are only experienced at losing. I have been to MD Live now more than 6 times and every time I walked away a winner on Slots, I have been to Horseshoe 3 times and won every time, hit jackpots there 2 (2500, on high limit Wheel o fortune, 1st spin). If you are leaving the casino down money, you do not know how to play, and do not know when to quit. Winning in the casino is possible, pick the right game, the right pace and know when to change, quit, take a break, etc. In Maryland just this month these 2 casinos have been kind enough to contribute over 10,000 to my Hawaii vacation next month. So do not proclaim to be an expert on gambling and declare everyone who comes here has reported they can not win. You do not speak for everyone, you do not even speak for most. I have witnessed more winning than I can tell you. I appreciate the fact they make it so easy if you have just a bit of common sense. You can't win at low limit black jack everyone who knows how to play blackjack knows that. Because every inexperienced player sits at a low limit table and does not know how to play and screws the card sequence up for the whole dam table. Causing the other players to bust and the dealer to hit. You explained your style is in complete contrast to every published expert opinion. You only have a chance in HIGH LIMIT blackjack where all the players who risk money have skill and wont make stupid errors and bet accordingly. bet low and win?
