The average casino pays 87 to 93% of what they take in on slots. According to MD Lottery, MD Live pays a wooping 7%. This place is a joke, not only for poor payouts, but there rewards card is promoting this month, 2000 points, and you recieve a pie. Who in their right mind pays $2000 for a pie. Last month they falsely advertised giving away 21 cars, when you actually won a 1 year lease, taxes not included. Guess they feel they are the new guy in town, but WV still pays 89% of what they take in, and they are still taking in double what MD does. Way to go MOB (Miller, O'malley, and Busch), you sure showed that GREED does not pay! What next? Raise taxes?

I don't know where you got your 7% slot payback number from, but it's wrong. Maryland gaming regulations require a minimum payback of 87%.

Also, there are no slot machines that are set to return only 7% because manufacturers don't offer chips with that low a payback percentage. 83% is about the lowest you can find.

Steve, I take you work for MD Live. MD Lottery post the numbers. In Oct, MD Live took in 30 million, and the purse amount was 2 million. In Sept, they took in 32 million, and the purse was 2.2 million.Seems to be a consistant 7%. http://slots.mdlottery.com/financial-reporting/

I do not work for any casino.

The problem is that information you are referring to at http://slots.mdlottery.com/financial-reporting/ does not show the payback percentages on gaming machines in Maryland. It only shows the revenue that those machines produced and how it was distributed.

The actual payback percentages of gaming machines in Maryland are not a matter of public record. Therefore, you won't know what the machines actually returned to the public. You will only know that they are required to return at least 87%.

This information is posted on our website on the following page - http://www.americancasinoguide.com/slot-machine-payback-statistics.html#Maryland

It shows that MD Live took in 30 million, and paid out 2 million. It also shows, that no where near comes to 87%. Not a matter of public record? We won't know what the machines actually return to the public! These are comments that only prove, the MOB (Miller, O'Malley, and Busch) are in control. So you tell me, you say we only know that they are required to pay 87%. But all the numbers prove they don't!

It only shows the revenue that those machines produced and how it was distributed. This is what I call the payout. If not please explain!

You need to read this page - http://slots.mdlottery.com/faq/

The 7% has nothing to do with the payback percentages on the gaming machines, it is only the percentage of the profits that is set aside for racing purses - 7%: Horse racing purse account (not to exceed $100 million per year)

To determine the payback percentage you need to see how much was put into the machines and how much was paid back to the public. Unfortunately, the state does not release that information. They only say how much the machines made as profits.

Steve, thanks for explaining. I'm used to looking at WV Lottery, they show amount taken in and amount won. But the fact that MD does not make public, amount won, makes me suspicious. That and the fact that for a slots casino, you never see any jackpots hit there. I have much better luck in WV, and will return there to gamble, at least I know the odds!

Even thought the minimum payback must be at least 87% I am sure that the average is above that amount. My guess is that the average return on all gaming machines is around 90%
