Belterra boat as my friends and I call it to compare it to belterra park closer to cincinnati ohio that is not on a boat, is actually a very nice resort. Yes, it is older but compared to some other casinos within 30 minutes Belterra easily wins for it's beautiful hotel rooms and shopping areas along with their great restaurants. The casinos itself is nice. Not the best one in Indiana but by no means the worst. My advice if you play the slot machines on the first floor you walk into you won't come out ahead. Most of the new flashy slots are up on this floor. I have never done well on the first floor. Take the escalators downstairs and you will find a slew of older slots that let you play for a longer period of time. Overall it is a good casino with some character.

09/30/19 - stopped at Belterra on the way to the Horseshoe in So Indiana. What a BEAUTIFUL place out in the middle of nowhere! Casino was on 2 floors & well appointed, but small. Nice atmosphere! No free drinks though.

I have been to Belterra several times in the past and have enjoyed the experience. However this trip I asked for a room near the elevator as I am handicapped and was assigned room with a 57 on it and the last rooms on the opposite side from the elevators is 69. Do the math. In other words I was about as far from the elevators as I could get. There was no handicap bar in the stool area and no shower, stepping into a tub is extremely difficult. On Tuesday we went to breakfast buffet and almost before we could get our food they took the spoons out of all the dishes so we could not finish half of what we wanted to eat. For the price, I believe you need to at least let people eat before removing the spoons. Why not shut off the breakfast buffet at 10:30, give people time to finish, and open at 11:30 for lunch. Would be better for servers and customers. Use your heads for once. Prices for buffet have increased, payouts on machines was literally non-existent and check in on Monday, May 28 was a nightmare. Why would you only have one to two check in people working the desk when you had reservations for all the people? Another time to use your head. Very sad experience.

Nice marble floors, a semi-decent buffet and comfortable hotel rooms no longer qualify Belterra as a decent gaming destination. After their latest change in management, the slots are the tightest machines I've ever experienced - bonuses are few and far between and when they are finally hit, they pay out very little. Comps no longer exist at Belterra - every little "reward" is based strictly on your play now and the money you have to spend to get a small return is no longer worth it. No excitement whatsoever on the part of patrons - everyone feels ripped off and disgusted with their experience. Even among employees, there is very little enthusiasm, as the American staff is replaced by foreign workers housed at the Ogle House and hours and benefits are steadily cut. The place is downright depressing anymore - and falling apart. It reminds of a skanky old Missouri river boat casino. I have told them they have seen their last penny from me - when my measly coupons stop coming, so will I!
