Horseshoe Casino Hotel Southern Indiana

If you are a “world’s largest” fan, and enjoy seeing things like the world’s largest ball of rubber bands (Wilmington, Delaware), the world’s largest hog (Dothan, Alabama), or the world’s largest hockey stick (Real Eveleth, Minnesota), then you don’t want to miss visiting the world’s largest riverboat casino, the Horseshoe Casino Hotel Southern Indiana.

This 173,000-square-foot, $50 million craft boasts all of the amenities of a complete casino resort destination. Built in 1998 and formerly known as Ceasars Indiana, this four-deck riverboat is 452 feet long by 100 feet wide and is powered by four 1,000 horsepower Z Drive engines. But don’t worry about motion sickness because it’s been permanently docked since 2002 when the state legislature discontinued cruise requirements.

Surrounding this 5,000 passenger floating casino is an entertainment, dining, and hotel complex, making this facility much more interesting than a huge ball of rubber bands, a big hog, or a giant hockey stick!  Let’s take a closer look…

Gaming

The casino has the largest variety of table games in Indiana, with 100 tables offering blackjack with up to $50,000 limits, craps with 100X odds, Pai Gow, Crazy 4 Poker, Caribbean Stud, Let it Ride, roulette, mini-baccarat, and a 30-table poker room (recently updated with $1 million in renovations) with daily tournaments and ring games for hold’em, stud, and Omaha. Keno is also available, and there’s a high limit casino on Deck 4.

For slot and video poker players the casino has 2,000 state-of-the-art machines with very competitive payback percentages.

Hotel

Voted one of the best casino hotels by CitySearch.com and MSN, it has 503 rooms, a fitness center with cardiovascular and free weight equipment, the Aroma Café and Bar, an indoor pool, a fitness trail with 18 workout stations, and a scenic woodland view.  Lodging rates are reasonable, especially mid-week.

Various gift and clothing shops are located in the lobby and pavilion, and golf is available at Chariot Run, an 18 hole championship course with bent grass greens and fairways.

Groups and Meetings

The facility has a showroom with a 600-seat banquet capacity, 840-square foot boardroom, conference and meeting rooms, and a 1,000-seat theater-style meeting room with a lighting and sound system.
