Originally opened in 1999 at a cost of $800 million, the 32-story building houses a massive 3.2 million-square-foot resort, making it the tallest and largest building in Mississippi. With 3,800+ employees, it is also the largest employer in the Biloxi area, plus it holds the distinction of having the most table games, guest rooms and meeting space of any property on the Gulf Coast.

In March 2019 the resort celebrated its 20th anniversary. “Beau Rivage is proud of the role it has played in the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s tourism development, economic growth and quality of life over the past 20 years, and we look forward to the next 20,” said Beau Rivage CFO Paul Heard, who has been with the company since its opening in March 1999. “As Biloxi’s largest private sector employer for 20 straight years, MGM Resorts is committed to the Mississippi Gulf Coast market and continues to focus on the guest experience and driving more visitors to the region.”
