The COVID-19 pandemic is no longer strange news as its effect is being felt all over the world. Many Casinos have been closed due to the restrictions on social gatherings. While the Casinos are closed for now, you can still make the most of the time. You do so by preparing yourself well in the game you love before you are free to really play when the restrictions are lifted.

Stay with us as we show you simple tips for playing Craps.

Most people think that Craps is very difficult and confusing to play, hence never turn to the table. This is because they don’t seem to understand its fast pace of play. Meanwhile, it is a game of great fun and easy to understand when explained well. And that’s what we are going to do here.

General things to Know about Playing Craps

The game is played by rolling the dice and summing the value shown by the two dice. The player is the one who rolls the dice. The player is also known as “shooter” and the act of rolling the dice is known as “come-out roll”. The goal of craps is to have a come-out roll of anything other than 2, 3, 7, or 12. Playing these will mean “Depending”, or losing in other words. Depending on the total value of the played dice, the bets are paid.

Setting the Point

This is when the shooter plays any number other than 2, 3, 7 or 12. Here, the player is expected to hit that same number before getting a 7 (which will be a loss). For example, if the shooter gets a 6 after the first come-out roll, he/she is expected to get another 6 to win. Here, getting a 7 before 6 will mean a loss.

You should note here that there are many types of bets. But you will not be required to know all the bets because not all will be useful to you. Just know two or three. We will give you two in this article. These are the pass line and odds bets.

Pass Line bets

You are required to place this bet before rolling. If you have a come-out roll of 7 or 11, a 1:1 pass line bet will be paid. That is, you get a profit of $10 if your bet was $10. However, you will lose your bet if your come-out roll is a 2, 3, or 12. You’ll have to place another bet to play.

You should note that 7 becomes a win when there is no set point. But it is a loss when you already have a set point.

There is an opposite of the pass line bet known as the Don’t Pass Line. In this, a 7 and 11 will be a loss while 2 and 3 become wins. You have a push when you hit 12.

Odds bets

This is simply an option given to you by the casino to add more money to your original Pass Line bet. You win or lose just like in the Pass Line bet. Some casinos allow a maximum of only 3x your bet. That is, you can have an Odd Bet of $30 on a Pass Line bet of $10.

These are just the simple basics you need to begin playing craps. It is a game in which the casino house has no edge over you as a player. This adds to the fun and your profit-making chances.
