Two of us went to the casino the first weekend they were open to see it and have the buffet. The smoke smell was terrible in the casino area. In the dining area, first the table they took us to needed to be wiped off. Then, when we finished our salads, the waitress took those plates, and we went to get our main course. We had two glasses of water and two glasses of pop on the table along with clean napkins we had taken previously so we wouldn't have to pick up more. We got back to the table and our pop and water and everything else was gone and the table was washed off! I found someone and told her that everything had been removed from our table while we went to get the main course. It took our waitress 20 MINUTES before she came back with pop and water to replace what had been removed. We had only had a couple of sips of each when it was taken, but when she finally brought new water and pop, she only filled the glasses half full and it was obvious that she was ticked off that she had to do that much. I watched and everyone else she brought drinks to had full glasses, not half glasses like ours. We were afraid to go together to get additional food for fear they would take what we weren't finished with again.

Although the pasta dishes on the salad bar were very good, there were hardly any vegetable choices for the main course and all they had for desserts were miniature cheesecakes and a few slices of apple pie. It looked like they may have had a frozen custard machine, but it wasn't on.

The next weekend I met another friend from Minneapolis there because she wanted to see the place. Again, it was very, very smoky and the employees were rude. I'm not much of a player, but she likes to go so I decided to play a little. I had run out of bills, but found $4 worth of quarters in the bottom of my purse. I took them to the cashier, she got very snippy and said, "We don't deal in change. We don't have a change machine." Since she'd acted really nasty when she said it, I said, "You mean you can't count out $4 worth of quarters?" Then she snapped and said she'd do it but she wasn't supposed to. There were several people behind me who heard this exchange and the friend I was with commented on how nasty the woman was to me.

We saw a no smoking room with machines in it and went to check it out. It was very, very small and actually smelled more of smoke than the large outer area. We had sandwiches at the deli section and I found the prices to be terribly high (over $5 for a sandwich that just had tomato, mozzarella cheese, and a few basil leaves on it) and the food wasn't that good. When we left, my friend and I went to another casino and she said she would never return to the Hole in the Wall in Danbury. I can see why they were nearly bankrupt before. If they don't get decent employees, they won't make it with this new building either. We went to a tiny place outside Hertel where they were friendly and we had a good time.
