A trip to Potowatomi is only 30 minutes for us and another 30 and between my husband and I $200 if flown out the window would have done more good.? After pouring $40 to $100 in any machine it does not even yield a bonus in order to have a slightly good time.
The buffet is too expensive and the food is poor quality. The incentives that are sent in the mail are so filled with restrictions and regulations that by the time you finish reading them you have no clue what they have said and cannot participate on their terms, most machines require too high quantities of coins to play, not enough penny and two cent, too much smoke, rude clientele and customer service, what is it anyway.
I would expect to be treated quite well for the money we have poured into that place. Customer lines are long with 1/2 hour waits and no one cares. Like Reggie, we too have had it and hope we keep our promise to ourselves not to step foot in that place again.
I'd rather travel 2 hours and have some fun at least if I don't end up with much so I would have had fun playing anyway. it is a crime the way they haul the seniors in there and watch them pull their last dollar out of their purse and play it as if they will win a million and they go home broke. The Lord in his mercy should make the walls come tumbling down. .............no more for me either.
The casino itself is beautiful. That's the only good thing I have to say. The new buffet is terrible - will never go back. Not enough one-cent machines, far too many high denomination machines that sit empty.
Who wants to play a multi-line $5.00 machine with 20 lines? Let's face it, we don't go in any casino with high expectations of a big win. However, to expect to have playing time on $20 isn't unreasonable to ask. You can sit in Las Vegas on a penny machine for hours, have your machine go way up in credits and then blow it all - but you have fun doing it and walk away satisfied that you had some nice hits.
Potowatomi? Forget it ... put a $20 in any machine, play for maybe 5 minutes and find you haven't had a hit, a bonus round -- nothing! Your money is gone just like that! You may as well throw you money directly in the toilet because you're not going to have a fun experience here. Wake up Potowatomi -- you need to install at least 300 or more 1 cent machines and get rid of all the 2 cent? & 5 cent machines. At least on a penny machine you have room to play for a long time (and they get your money anyway) but at least you won't have empty machines everywhere!
Cannot believe what these people just pulled off this past Sunday(4-19).They heavily advertised(via email and US Mail) 10X points between 7 and 9 AM. The place was packed..expected that..Over 25% of the machines were "out of service". What a blatant crock of crap. They were bascially forcing you to play larger denomination machines of their choice.
And they had table games sitting there empty because they were 10-25 dollar minimums. Dealers standing there doing nothing. HELLO management. Change the minimums on these table games and you will rip off even more people! This whole slot thing really has me miffed!
I cannot believe so many people continually put up with this crap! I am totally done..Tore up my players card and requested no more emails from Potawatomi..Stands for "you come, we take"!!!!
First, let me say that my review is based on dozens and dozens of visits to Potawatomi over the years. I will, however, never go there again. Responding on the basis of slot machines only, Potawatomi casino is the smokiest and worst paying casino I've ever been in, with the exception of Aztar, Carruthers, Mo.
They have many older nickel video slots and quarter and dollar reel slots. No pennies or two centers. There are banks and banks of slots that sit unplayed because the payout percentage is so low.
There are far too many machines that have 30 or 40 or even 100 lines. I have run through 20 or 30 dollars without ever getting a hit of more than I bet, much less a bonus. Of course, Indian casinos are not required to publish the payouts their machines are set at, but I would venture to guess that Potawatomi orders the absolute lowest payback the slot machine company makes.
When I go, during the week, there are always people just lounging idly on the stools because they have long ago run out of money, and they are probably just waiting for the bus to take them out of the casino.
The people working in the cages are usually blabbing a mile a minute to each other, and you often have to tell them twice what denomination bills you want in change. They are too busy blabbing to pay attention. They act as if you are an interruption to their social lives.
And the worst thing? The Potawatomi are doing their absolute best to block the construction of a casino in Kenosha. Because they know that if it opened, multitudes of their captive patrons would vacate the premises, never to return.
If I were running this casino, I wouldn't be able to sleep nights knowing how much I have bilked the people of Milwaukee.
OK, I can recommend one and only one thing about this place, and that is the sports bar (which is separately owned and operated) The food is wonderful. Try the reuben sandwich. And you might consider splitting the sandwiches. They are enormous.
